Link failure at login since 19.Q2.1 and latest Windows 10 1903 update

Window 10 Pro, 1903 update 175

WX 7100

19.Q2.1 software

Eizo ColerEdge CG2730 monitor

When I login by screen goes black momentarily, then returns, and I get a notification  "The system has detected a link failure and cannot set the requested resolution and refresh rate.  Your display might not support the requested resolution..."

This has just started happening and I think it is some AMD driver conflict with Windows 10 updates.

Can AMD help please? This is really annoying.

Exactly same problem since the 1903 update.
Running on Vega 64, i7 9700K.

I dont think it's because of AMD, the problem occur only with 1903 May update.
But it's not a knowing problem by Microsoft ATM.

  1. How are you connected and how long is your cable?
  2. Resolution, refresh rate, color depth, chroma subsampling?

I will explain the problem :

Power on

First i see my bios

Second Windows wake up

And the monitor shut dawn "NO SIGNAL",

I have to disconnect and reconnect the cable back of my central unit

And I see this message :

"AMD Settings. Error. The system has detected a link failure and cannot set the requested resolution and refresh rate. Your display might not support the requested resolution or there may be an issue."

at each startup...

I already tried :

- Changing resolution and refresh rate

- Changing my port (DP and HDMI)

- Update my driver Monitor (Benq website)

- Disconnect the Headset (HTC Vive).

- Reinstall the GPU Driver (19.6.1).

Display port, 6 foot

2560x1440 10 bpp (dithered FRC on monitor) 60 Hz

This was working fine until the latest AMD pro software update and windows 10 update. I cannot untangle which it is.

I no longer get the error message, but the screen still goes black then back to normal when logging in

  1. Can you please try the 19.Q2 driver instead of 19.Q2.1?
  2. If issue persists, send me the EDID of your monitor. See below how to save the EDID:

I have noticed the same issue with the WX 7100, drivers 19.Q2.1 and an Eizo display on Windows 10 (1903). I have observed the monitor works until Eizo Color Navigator (7) is started, then it switches to 'no signal' and subsequently to the power saving mode. Unplugging the DisplayPort cable and plugging it in again restores the display.

I suppose it is some compatibility issue with windows 10 1903, the AMD Enterprise drivers and/or ColorNavigator. But I have no idea if the solution has to come from MS, AMD or Eizo.... or all of them...

I finally resolve the problem (not with a new windows account).
Try these action :
1. Power off your computer
2. power off your monitor

3. Unplug power and display port from the monitor

4. wait a min

5. Plug the monitor

6. Power on the computer

I know this is ridiculous, but it works for me.
