I updated to the newest drivers 22.7.1 and while the performance uplift is great I am having an issue turning on HDR. I have am RX 6800 XT and a HDR400 monitor. I am aware HDR400 is not great. That is not why I'm here.
I enable HDR on my monitor and go to display settings and the toggle is gone.
I have done basic troubleshooting, restarting my PC with it enabled on the monitor, changing color depth 8bit to 10bit etc, resetting drivers to factory settings. I have even reset the monitor and tried using different display ports on my GPU.
I went so far as to look in DXDIAG and the information file you can save as a text document. Advanced color: not supported. I'm at a loss.
Did Windows get rid of the toggle? Is my 6800 XT faulty. Someone help me make sense of this. It's quite annoying to not know what is going on.
I have yet to use DDU to uninstall and reinstall but I used DDU before installing the drivers in the first place. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why my GPU would drop HDR support?

Update: According to driver release notes of 22.7.1 and 22.8.1, 10 Bit Per Pixel format in graphics settings no longer supports HDR.

I ran DDU and restarted and the toggle was there. I enabled it and reinstalled 22.7.1 and it is still there. It is weird that it just disappeared but I got it fixed and working.
So if this happened to you I did:
Run DDU
Restart
Restart again because Windows told me to
Go to display settings
Enable HDR
Reinstall 22.7.1
I did DDU and reinstalled 22.8.1, HDR was working fine but it went away again after I enabled "10-bit Pixel Format" under Settings > Display. Turned it off and HDR is back.

I'm still on 8 bit and it's still saying not supported
Settings > Graphics > Advanced > 10-Bit Pixel Format turned it off
Thank you for this reply, it fixed my issue.
