hey i have rx 5600 xt by sapphire 6gb memory and ryzen 5 2600 x
lately im having trouble with a low fps it started as fps drops and now its just set to defualt as a low fps
im lost ive tried to reset my windows and my computer all toghter didnt work
ive installed drivers of the gpu and cpu
i really need help plz
anything you can offer ty very much
1. update Win10 to 20H2
2. disable Win10 auto-driver-install
3. delete C:/AMD
4. run DDU in safe-mode and clean old driver
5. install 20.12.1
test again
if error persists:
check if there is a stock VBIOS with lower VRAM clocks - this can help stability
hey so i have no idea what seems to be the problem but i just did what you told me to and i didnt understand what is ddu and run it in a safe i would happy to get an explantation and after i deleted the amd file i need to download everything all over again i mean the drivers and stuff or not?
also what is a stock vbios with vram
DDU = DisplayDriverUninstaller
safe-mode = Windows safe-mode
VBIOS = bios of your GPU; choose your vendor and what GPU, what RAM etc
look if there are 2 bios for your RX 5600XT - and flash the bios with lower VRAM clocks
https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/
goggle on how to use DDU (there are videos about it) - but its pretty easy - dont forget to run it in safe-mode
also google on how to flash with ati-flash // TAKE THE CORRECT BIOS FOR YOUR GPU: like if you have RX 5600XT Pulse then you CANT FLASH the Nitro+ Bios! also check with GPU-Z for VRAM module vendor // CHOOSE THE CORRECT BIOS OR IT CAN BRICK YOUR CARD (yet in 99% you can still revive it when bricked...)
ty so much but i didnt understood about the v ram what you want me to do and i already did the ddu but without safe mode it worked just fine i dont know how to run in safe mode i tried through microsoft support but it didnt worked at all
i hope it'll be ok right now im downloading all the neccesery updates and drivers and ill do what you just told me
thanks again
also i have the model with the 1560Mhz
and it clock up to 1620 Mhz
and i just couldnt find the right model in the link you sent me
hope you help me out
also im sorry to butter you
but ive tried to run as administrator the amdvbflash and it keep telling me to run it as administrator all tho i am doing that and also it saying that a criticial file misssing and i should download and run video bios flash files again
and i dont know what it means plz help me.
mh, there are videos about it
but with that low computer knowledge its maybe not the best when you flash your GPU...
btw - i always use the dos-tool and not the windows flash tool... // just run it in an admin-cmd
ps what is your GPU manufactor? Sapphire, MSI, ASUS etc
i have the sapphire one
and also i didnt understood what you want me to do or how to run it in cmd im sorry for my poor knowldege
and ive seen a video and i do know how to do it
it just that when i try to run as administrator the amdvbflash
it keeps sending me the same message over and over again and i dont know what to do
plz help me beacuse it seems like you know what to do and ive never did anything like that:(
also ive entered into a game to notice the usage precent of a certain components
and ive seen that my cpu is within the normal while my gpu is only usage of about 45% and below
@tomzim2002
what games you have tried? (maybe i have them too and can check if my RX 580 works fine)
can you try other games? like Diablo 3 or Division 1/2?
i have tried cs go and fortnie and both of them the same issue happend
i havent done what you told me to beacuse as i said i didnt find the right model of my gpu out of the list you sent me and also i didnt managed to open the amdvflash that you told me to download in order to fix the problem hope you can help and response to me beacuse it has been few days now and im hopeless.
...
1. make a picture of the sticker on the backside of your GPU (or maybe it is over the PCIe connector on the front)
2. maybe it is driver related - maybe its your Windows that is corrupt - maybe it is HW issues - maybe it is Malware etc...
what is your CPU usuage? what does the taskmgr say when you have bootet into windows after 5min?
My cpu usage after I booted my pc the cup usage is about 10 11%
in games the cpu usage comes around 22%
@tomzim2002
https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/?architecture=&manufacturer=Sapphire&model=RX+5600+XT&interface=...
was that so hard?
there are 2 different BIOS version for Sapphire Pulse RX 5600XT
ONE with 1500MHz VRAM && another one with 1750MHz
check for same boost clock
now open GPU-Z and send me a screenshot from it...
isn't that a little bit complicated (and dangerous) for the problem he may have ? :)
wondering , isn't that a little bit complicated (and dangerous) for the problem he may have ?:)
sorry for double post , didn't know i can't delete it
@xlox
given the knowledge he has i would recommend him doing it - but it has the possibility to fix his low performance: when he gets many VRAM errors it would tank his performance
@benman2785 yes I see, but I was wondering if he had the low performance from the start, or if there is another problem elsewhere to solve first...
THAT IS IT
thats the thing i cant see a bios with a boost clock of 1620 ive tried to find it
and i went according to the serial number too
mh,
@Matt_AMD what is the correct BIOS for him with lower VRAM clocks? is there any?
What should I do?
I’ve tried to play yesterday and I’ve received 140 FPS or so
1. go to graphic settings
2. go to advanced
3. add game to list
4. select "high performance" for game
it should work fine now
Win10 20H2 changed that...
what is win 10 20hz? to change
and also icouldn't find the specific games so i added for a fact the steam and the epic games launcher it should do the job?
am i going to have to do that before every game i play or there is a more parament solution?
and what about the vbios for the graphic card?
1. Win10 20H2 is the newest version of Windows
2. NO just adding the Launcher wont fix your issues
steam games are usually in steam/steamapps/common/YOURGAME
Epic games are usually in /GameName
3. this IS the permanent solution - it will set it for the games that dont work properly - you only have to do it once for each games that behaves wrong
i actually have my friend help me with that and it didnt work it work just a bit my fps is still low around 160 140 fps
while i can run easly 300 and more than that.
my pcu and gpu usage are still low psu about 40%
and my gpu is about 20 25%
and im hiting about 150 fps or so i really need a help.
Hello, were you able to solve it?
I have the same problem with my 5600xt, very low fps.
it didnt work dude
i could use your help with that.
note: i just tried that it made it even worse or as bad as it used to be before.
maybe try some gpu benchmark to see if it's a driver related problem ? i use time spy and compare to results online
you speak about online game , do you have same problem with other games ?
i've tried the user bench mark and here is the information that was given
Overall this PC is performing below expectations (36th percentile). This means that out of 100 PCs with exactly the same components, 64 performed better. The overall PC percentile is the average of each of its individual components. Use the charts in the benchmark sections of this report to identify problem areas.
i don't really know what that mean as if there was a real problem you would be last ,
and sometime pc with the same hardware a compared to overclocked pc maybe too
so I wouldn't care about that benchmark especially, nothing alarming there
what's your memory actual speed ? and timings ?
my memory actual speed is 3000mhz
but i entered the bios and i've seen that the speed is actually 2133mhz.
ok it shouldn't at least not be the problem,... as you don't have any stability issue, you can try to set it on xmp should help a little for the userbenchmark (if crash happens set it to default, will see this later)
could you try some 3dmark benchmark to be able to compare to something ?
also , is this a problem that appeared recently ? did it run smoothly before ?
This is an entirely AMD driver issue the rx 5600xt was pretty much entirely neglected for optimisations after their bioses. Its an entirely widespread issue surrounding clock and 3D Optimization. Changing my GPU clocks slightly lower with a much higher minimum clock helped slightly however it is an entirely 3D application usage issue. The usages of your GPU will fluctuate in games and because of the Navi heavy downclocking and power throttling implanted into the vbios.
Some of the things that have helped it according to random pc advice:
Change the minimum clock in 3d apps to 1000-500mhz below your boost.
Change your power plan to high/ultimate performance.
Try reflashing bioses and making sure both bioses are flashed if you have a dual bios card.
Try disabling your instant replay and other recording features.
Downclock your GPU to work better with the power table.
I'm sorry but some people think it's issues relating to a bad implementation of GPU brickwalling. To prevent custom bios flashing which is why it's so rare on 5700 and 5700xt. And the brickwalling features were badly implemented with the updated bioses.
It seems amd doesn't really care about the cards issues and continue to not fix the boosting equation for it.
