I bought a new PC yesterday . My system is
AMD RYZEN 7 5800X
4.70GHZ 8BIOSTAR B550MH 3.0
VGA BIOSTAR AMD RADEON RX6700XT 12GB OC GDDR6
2x RAM KINGSTON KF432C16BB1/16 FURY BEAST 16GB DDR4
PSU CORSAIR CP-9020236-EU CV650 650W 80 PLUS BRONZEWindows 11
Searched a lot.Uninstalled drivers with DDU, and installed them again.
With or without AMD Software. My Bios is up to date.Same goes for windows.
Both GPU and RAM are firmly connected to the motherboard.Same goes for the PSU cables.
GPU passed AMD Software and OCCT stress tests.
But when I am trying to play a game like Microsoft flight Simulator or Beam . ng (these are the only ones I have tried so far) PC crashes after 20 or so minutes.
I have green screen which says nothing and then it reboots.
What should I do?Any other ideas?
Edit ,GPU does not overheat maximum temp I have seen is about 75C in strees tests.
Did you also run the stress tests for 20+ minutes? What is the CPU cooler and what are CPU temps? You can enable Overlay in Adrenalin software to monitor.
I run the tests for about 10 minutes.Cpu cooler is the ENDORFY FERA 5 ARGB which is at 220w.
CPU Temps are also low.
There's the rub. If you run a stress test for 10 minutes and say it "passed", but then game for 20+ minutes and get a crash, you're comparing apples to oranges.
I have never heard of "ENDORFY FERA 5 ARGB" but I seriously doubt a 4 heatpipe, single tower 120mm cooler can handle a heat load of 220w. Noctua is about one of the best manufacturers in the business and their NH-U12S is a 5 heatpipe, single tower 120mm cooler they rate at 129w.
You state CPU temps are low but what is the actual temp?
You are right about the tests.I will run them again tomorrow and get back with the results.
Edit
I just did a last test for today.Started Red Dead Redeption with AMD software overlay .
Game crashed with the same way as before , this time five minutes after launch.
FPS 60
Frame time 16.67ms
99%FPS 56
GPU util 55%
GPU power 112W
GPUtemp 68 C
CPU util 28%
CPU temp 49.6C
These were the numbers the time the crash happened.
This is good info, it shows both the CPU and GPU were operating well within normal parameters when the crash occurred.
What version of Adrenalin software are you on?
The version is 24.1.1 , everything is at default.
Ok, just to rule those out, try going to 22.11.2 drivers.
Since the PC is new do you have any system support available?
Reverted to 22.11.2 drivers. But unfortunately no luck.
Although it took longer for the pc to crash.
I think I will visit a technician tomorrow to see it first hand.Hopefully it will something that is fixable one way or another.
Thank you for all your help.
Good luck, hopefully they will be able to find something. Maybe ask to install the graphics card in another system and see if it has the same issue.
Yes that it was I had in mind, also to try it with a stronger PSU.
I have the same problem when i play Yakuza Kiwami 2 but it crashes after 2 to 3 minutes if you find a solution please tell us
