GPU Scaling not working with any newer drivers

I have a 3440x1440 21:9 monitor and everything I want to play in 16:9 ends up stretching to the whole screen. Games I tested are Fallout 76, Mafia II and Doom Eternal. GPU Scaling is set to on and preserve aspect ratio is set in the global settings as well as the game settings. Newest driver i got it to work with is the Adrenalin 24.2.1, above that everything is the same. My GPU is the RX6750XT. Is it a driver issue or am I doing something wrong? I'd appreciate any input.

Any reason not to set 3440x1440 native resolution in game?

Why render in 2560x1440 and scale?

I need it specifically for fallout 76, because the game doesn't support 21;9 properly. The other games I listed I was just checking if the scaling functions.

I tried using DDU for the drivers as well as setting the resolution in CRU. The thing was that the resolution worked, but as soon as I launched a fullscreen game, the screen went black and came on with the game stretched. I think I'll check out the optional drivers, and if they don't work, I'll just stay with my current ones. Thank you very much for your advice
