Hey Guys,
I start playing the new Call of Duty MW3 Multiplayer and get near the end of 1 game or a couple games in and the game crashes showing DirectX Error saying my GPU driver does not meet the recommended version yet everything is completely up-to-date. I've deleted and re-installed the game, and not sure what else to do (pretty new to all this). I have the AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon Graphics and 16GB RAM.
Any help appreciated!
Im having the same issue, game was running fine up until a week ago.
There are a few things that could be causing your GPU to crash when playing the new Call of Duty MW3 Multiplayer.
Here are a few things you can try:
Here are some additional tips to help prevent GPU crashes:
I hope this helps!
Thank you however, I've tried all of this and nothing worked, as to reaching out to activision i filed a support ticket on their website a week ago and still haven't heard back from them , do you know of any other way to contact them?
Also i have a 7900xtx and no other game has this issue including mw2
The solution to solve all these crashes is:
Use the AMD drivers version from 23.11. DO NOT UPDATE your graphic card drivers
I tried almost all the ideas found and the solution that works is downgrade the drivers.
I don't understand what AMD did but they crashed the compatibility with CoD.
And here i am , playing on the newest drivers on two rigs in the house (both 7900xtx/7800x3d) just fine. In fact, killer fps, zero issues.
Newest driver- 24.3.1 since day one of the driver coming out.
edit- also, this thread is like 6 months old. Cheers.
driver 23 12 1 works best with cod the newest driver causes the direct x 12 failure after extensive testing on multiple systems this is the best performer so far that i have come across on a 6950xt
Same problem with the same game.

Nothing that ive tried worked but going to another GPU from Nvidia.
Got 4070 S and since then the problems are gone.
