GPU Clock and Memory Clock Stuck

When I run a 3D application or game my AMD HD 8670M GPU clock always stuck at 400MHz  and Memory clock always stuck at 600 MHz. I have this almost 4 - 5 months. Problem occured both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

I tried,

  • Clean installition of Windows.
  • Clean installition of AMD drivers with DDU.
  • Use different versions of Crimson and Catalyst drivers.
  • Use High performance power plan.
  • Update Drivers.

  • Clean dust from my laptop.
  • Overclock with AMD Overdrive on AMD settings, MSI Afterburner, TriXX

I'm only having the memory stuck lately on my two Vega cards. Both running at 945MHz when doing nothing, while the core clock goes down as usual.

I would just like to add to my previous comment. Turns out my playing with the undervolting with the OverdriveN tool is causing the memory to run at max clocks once the changes are applied. Seems to be fixed in the latest tool release. I though I ate another malware that's mining for someone else, lol.

I can't use the tool because it doesn't support my graphics card.

Hi, the same thing is happening to me, I even made a downgrade of the windows version from 1709 to 1703, because they argued in some forums that this was the problem, there is someone active in this community that can help us, it is frustrating to have the GPU working at 50%, any help is appreciated.

My computer is an asus K550D

Laptop graphics are often very customized by the maker not AMD. They are custom solutions that often even have custom changes to the drivers or have had bios updates to work with newer drivers and changes in Windows. I would suggest to you and all above that your support requests should be with ASUS. AMD doesn't support your laptop. The company that made it does. AMD only makes the vanilla driver and the chip that they build into their custom design. You may or may not get some help here, but this is a community forum not AMD employees so the people answering are users like you.

I highly recommend you all open a support ticket at ASUS for help with this issue. Official Support | ASUS Global

AMD doesn't respond here, it is unfortunate but true. The people helping here are your peers not AMD employees. I don't know why they don't make that more abundantly clear in big clear sentence on main forum page. It would make everyones life easier. If you want AMD to know about your issue and to respond you have to open a support ticket. It is the only way I know to contact them. Here is the link: Email Form
