Hello everyone. I'm not very computer savvy but I'm savvy enough to know that Microsoft has more errors than users. I have a new HP  with windows 10 version 21H1 and even have an account at HP smart friends. No one there or anywhere else I have been can tell me how to get this laptop to detect my extra monitor so much or being smart ? I have purchased a new VGA to HDMI cable because it's an older monitor and having cancer 3 times in the last 6 years has taken all my money . I know someone is bound to be able to tell me how to fix this issue. HP smart friends are trying to tell me the monitor is too old and I'm not buying that , it's a 2007 and works fine on my older laptop and they make the cables so they will work.  Thank You to anyone for all suggestions that may lead to the cure. The next project I may ask you guys to help with is a cure for cancer? It seems like our doctors and scientist are either not having any luck or being bought off? you say there is no DVI or displayport or hdmi on your monitor? only VGA?

may you give the monitor and laptop specs/refs?

Thank you for any help here is the requested information. Monitor HP model number w1907 . Product number RK283AA. Manufacture date Feb-2007. 19 inch LCD. Assembly number435820-101. REV:STM002. It has a VGA port and a DVI port and an Audio in port. I have used it with my crashed pavilion g6 which was VGA my new computer only has the HDMI.
