Hi there! 

I have one problem. Every time when i play csgo the game randomly freeze and i have to restart my pc. After restart, i get notification that amd wattman settings has been restored due to an unexpected system failure. Other games run perfect without any freeze for many hours. I tried reinstall csgo, graphics driver and windows but nothing happened. Can you help me with this problem? My gpu is amd radeon rx 550 4gb. I never overclock it. I have this problem since i bought this gpu.

I recomneed downgrading the drivers, if that issue still exist, turn on Power Saving in CS:GO settings, this will cap your FPS to 60, which decreases GPU, CPU and VRAM load

If that didnt help, i have no solution, i know RX550 is kinda bad, but not that bad to crash drivers on CS:GO

Edit: Also could you uninstall AMD Wattman? It may fix the issue.

GPU: AMD radeon sapphire RX 550 4GB   

Operating system: Windows 10 Pro 64bit 20H2 

Driver version: Radeon adrenalin 20.11.2 (recommended) 

Monitor: HP 22x 144hz 1920x1080, HDMI 

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2,8Ghz 

Mobo: ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0 BIOS Version: 2.50B 

PSU: Gigabyte Odin Pro 550W 

RAM:  Corsair 8GB KIT DDR3 1600 MHz CL9

1. update Win10 to 20H2
2. install 20.12.1 with "Factory Reset" option
3. test again

if error persists: maybe do a fresh Win10 20H2 install

@benman2785  I have windows version 20H2 and i installed driver 20.12.1 but after 10 minutes it crashed. As i wrote in my post i reinstalled windows, csgo and driver but nothing happened. But when driver 20.7.1 was released, csgo run without crash for 2 months, i dont know how. Then it start crashing again.

mh, what is your RAM? can you disable XMP?
what about BIOS upgrade?

is there a stock bios for your RX 5500XT with lower VRAM clocks? if yes: flash it

And i have RX 550, not RX 5500XT. Yes i tried BIOS upgrade but did not help.

1. disable XMP in BIOS
2. use DDU in safe-mode to clean old driver and install 20.12.1

@benman2785 In BIOS i can chose only auto mode or xmp profile 1 mode. Ok i try DDU and clean install 20.12.1 driver.

Try Adrenalin 19.12.1. In my opinion AMD, with release 20.x.x, changed something that introduced some kind of incompatibility with the older chipset. If you check my last posts you can find out that I have the same issue and I’m running a 5700XT on a quite old X370 chipset: with 20.x.x the system crash, while with 19.12.1 I have no one issues.

I should have find a solution to my issues.

I have found out 2 problems:

1. a corruption (or a alignment between registers or something similar)
2. and a problem with the frequency / voltage set by default on my ROG 5700XT.

To solve the first one I followed these steps:

• restore the factory parameters into the overclocking section of Adrenalin;
• reboot the system in safe mode and uninstall the Adrenalin driver;
• reboot another time in safe mode and clean with DDU;
• reboot and flash a new one bios for my graphics card downloaded from the techpowerup site;
• install the driver Adrenalin (20.9.1.);
• reboot and then restore the factory parameters into the overclocking section of Adrenalin. Repete 3 times this step.

With this procedure I solved the crashed that occured suddenly after some seconds that I played a game, but I found out that after 5-10 minutes of playing the system crashed anyway.

I played with frequency and voltage and the results of my investigation is that the frequency-voltage-PL setted by ASUS as default are not stable. Now I'm stable with 2034 MHz, 1,14 V (the voltage that Adrenalin set automaticaly basing on the curve freq-volt), PL +20% and to be sure of it I benched for 3 hours with CS:GO. I know that could seem strange to test with a "light" game as CS:GO, but this game (as well Dragon Ball:Kakaroth) pointed out my instability, while with the same parameters I was able to pass 2 hours of stress testing with Superposition and 3D Mark or one hour of playing with Battlfield V.

What temperature does the video card reach at the time of the problem?

on csgo reach max 55 degrees but on other games can reach easily 70 degrees and the games run without problem

Did you try to uninstall the driver and clean with DDU? In safe mode.

Then reinstall the last available driver.

Go in settings "Overclock (Or something like this)" in Radeon Software, then change you're GP MHz on the number, that you have in Video Memory,

Example: GP MHz is 1100, Video Memory MHz is 900 ==> GP MHz is 900, Video Memory MHz is 900.

For my its working and now i don't have problems with crashing AMD driver.
