Can my EVGA Bronze rated PSU run a 7800xt without problem?

I've been asking around for a little over 2 weeks now, and this is not about wattage. I know the build that I'm currently building is within 650watts, but people have told me the quality of my PSU is awful, and wouldn't be able to handle the 7800xt. I'm concerned that it would fry my entire system if I did this. Although the entire setup isn't even using 80% although it's getting very close.

Here is my current PSU: https://www.newegg.com/p/1HU-00J7-00D15

Which is in the tier C speculative position. Apparently "low-end", so I have no idea. What are your opinions?

If I can't get this card I'm going to buy a RX 6800 with a new PSU.

AMD recommend a min of 700W for your PSU

I'm not concerned about wattage. I've already gotten confirmation from multiple sources that 650 watts for my setup is sufficient. I'm more concerned about if my PSU is good enough quality to be able to handle the power draw of the 7800xt. Will it break my system?

Since the demise of JonnyGuru, Cybenetics is another site that tests power supplies, however it seems they have not tested the model you have. They did test a EVGA BQ 650W unit which is also Bronze rated, and it tested fine at or slightly above its load rating.

The BP 650W model you have is a compact unit but according to EVGA it has all the protection standards including OVP (Over Voltage Protection), UVP (Under Voltage Protection), OCP (Over Current Protection), OPP (Over Power Protection), SCP (Short Circuit Protection), and OTP (Over Temperature Protection)

The 7800XT is a 260W rated card, and assuming the rest of your system is mid-range spec you're correct in that a quality 650W power supply should be enough. My son has a 6800XT and a Ryzen 5600 powered by a SilverStone Strider 650W.

So the question comes down to do you trust EVGA?

AMD's min psu recommendation is 700W.

I would say no given how low tier your psu is. It might initially work for a bit, but I suspect it would be a crash filled experience within a year or much shorter time period..

The PSU is one of the most critical parts of your PC.

I would install a PSU of at least 850 Watts or higher (Metal Rated PSU - Gold and above if possible) to future proof your PC for higher power consuming GPUs/CPUs and avoid any power issues with your current RX7800XT GPU card and CPU.

Found this website that gives a very good explanation of the PSU and how it affects your PC with your RX7900XT GPU card plus recommendation of PSUs for your GPU card: https://www.techreviewer.com/best-tech/amd-rx-7800-xt-gpu-power-supply/
