AMD 7900 XTX making a clicking nolise

  • My son has an AMD 7900 XTX GPU which is 3 months old but makes a ticking noise when put under load when he is gaming. We have taken it back to the retail store as it is still under warranty but when we showed them the video they said it was normal (due to the heat expanding the metal) and that all GPU's did this. My Son has spent a lot of money to make his PC as quiet as possible and this is causing considerable irritation.
    So our questions are:

    • Is this in fact normal and there is nothing we can do about it, or

    • Is this specific to this type of GPU and are there other GPU's out there that do not do this?

  • I have uploaded a link of the issue here: https://imgur.com/a/4nHCFIt

Sounds like a fan blade making contact with something... stray wire, heatsink fin, etc. You can verify by touching the fan hub to stop each one at a time. It's not normal. Contact ASRock Support.

Can you record it and post?  I’ve never heard any of my large GPUs make cooler noises and I have a dozen cards.
