I previously had a 6900XTX, and produced a EDID override driver for my monitor, mostly to get 120hz but to also fix a few mistakes.
Now I have a 7900XT, and I can see the driver and registry is working as before, but the 7900XT ignoring most of it.
Yes I can create a custom resolution, but the AMD software always sets to 6 bit colour, and not 10 bit.
I've tried all the drivers.
Same problem here, hope it'll be fixed soon !
CRU reads back the installed EDID driver override, but AMD ignores most of it: https://ibb.co/12Vchzg
Is it possible for the AMD version to save its settings somewhere the 6bit colour can be edited?
I also forgot to mention, my 6600XT and 6900XTX would overheat if set to 165hz with this monitor (AG273QX).
The 7900XT does not, it does not change in temperature at all, idle.
Might be worth standardizing AMD monitors to use CVT-RB, opposed to custom timings.
When ever I look at the timings without an override, its in manual.
This is still not working as of latest driver. Hope they fix this soon as well. Please AMD.
Please fix support for custom EDID overrides, it is the only way my Samsung TV (QN85B) can detect HDR in game mode was to add a freesync block using CRU. Now that I've upgraded to a 7000 series card, I can no longer use HDR mode with freesync.
