Why is my 2 week old MSI 7900 XTX using 100+ watts of power whilst idling?
Single 32" 1440p monitor. Running latest drivers. In fact, all drivers across my entire PC are up to date.
There's literally nothing running yet this card is using 100+ watts. Why?
Had the same issue, returned card and bought nvidia. AMD said they are not sure if they can solve this.
What driver version are you using? It was fixed in some driver version within past couple of months.
Since the various updates, mine idles at about 7 W, bounces around 15-30 W when active on the desktop (MS Office, browsing etc.).
System is XFX Merc 7900 XTX, Gigabyte Aorus Master X570S MB and Asus 4K 60 Hz monitor that claims to be HDR but isn't.
