Asrock Formula 6900 XT constantly crashes after 2-4 minutes of strenuous gaming. The computer will just freeze up but the screens stay on. I've tried bios configurations, undervolting, reinstalling drivers, updating various drivers (chipset included), making sure my RAM is stable, and nothing has worked. Running on a 7700X system which previously worked 100% with a Vega 56. I can play something like Roblox just fine, but any heavy load will crash the GPU. I bought it used so I could still return it, but is there anything obvious I'm missing? Thanks
EDIT:: I do get multiple "amd_anr_bg_proc" errors at the time of crashing.
What PSU make/model/Watts?
And used DDU to remove old drivers?
Running a corsair CX750M, I would also like to add that I get multiple "amd_anr_bg_proc" errors at the time of the crash. I've been running the 7700x in eco mode and it hardly crosses 75w of power and I have tried to undervolt. I've tried DDU twice.
you need a beefier PSU
850wtt 80+ Gold at least .. I'd go for a 1kw personally for a beastly 6900XT .. right now you are starving the poor thing , lol
The 'anr bg.....' is amd noise suppression, disable it for troubleshooting.
2016 psu, components degrade over time. It's old ATX spec., replace it with at least 2019 gold spec/build psu. Asrock recommend 1000W.
Fair enough, I disabled my second monitor and now it runs for around 10 minutes before hanging up. Not sure why my second monitor would cause any issues but if it works it works, gonna try later to see if anything else helps it keep from shutting down. And it's the new CX750M, power supply is right around a year old.
