Hey everyone, I am not a newbie at building my own machine; however, I am not familiar at all with overclocking and pushing components of my machine further than the stock "out of the box" settings. I recently built a new machine in order to assist with my side business, creating architectural 3d models and creating photorealistic renderings. My budget was $2k-$2.5k. The new rig consists of the following components:
- MSI x570 Gaming Edge with WiFi
- Ryzen 5950x
- Corsair Vengeance RGB RS 64gb (2x32GB) DDR4 3600
- GeForce RTX 3080Ti
- WD_Black SN850 M.2
- Artic Liquid Freezer ii 240
- EVGA Supernova 1000w G6
My questions are regarding overclocking the 5950x:
- Is it considered "safe" to do so?
- (if so) What is the SAFEST method of performing the task?
- What should I be paying attention to if I do overclock the CPU to ensure it doesn't get damaged?
