Windows Driver Version

Running Windows 7 64-bit with RX580 and it looks like I need driver Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.4.1 which I think I have installed.

When I check the driver version in Windows Device Manger or msinfo32 it says 25.20.15025.1002.

Should the driver version I see in Windows be 19.4.1 or is 25.20.15025.1002 correct?

Using Device Manager or msinfo32 how can I be sure that what is reported is the recommended driver if the numbers are not matching up?

Looks like you have,

Aside from the pic 'joecrow' supplied, open software info,

Windows only reports the driver store version number.

My PC- Ryzen 5 5600x, B550 aorus pro ac, Hyper 212 black, 2 x 16gb F4-3600c16dgtzn kit, NM790 2TB, Nitro+RX6900XT, RM850, Win.10 Pro., LC27G55T.

I am using 19.4.1 with an RX 460 and from device manager the version shows up as 25.20.15031.1000 BUT I am on Win 10 so can't be sure if it is the same for Win 7 (I doubt it). If you have not already done so, best would be for you to install the complete 19.4.1 package then you should see the 19.4.1 as the driver in Radeon Settings/System, see screenshot following.

The problem is I am remoted into this system and can't do all that (or don't see the need).  I can't risk something that requires a reboot in case something goes wrong.

It would seem that using the things that are available in Windows whatever version (Device Manager, msinfo, etc.) there would be a way to figure out with certainty what version of driver is installed and if it matches up to what the correct driver is supposed to be.

Why would installing 19.4.1 not show up as 19.4.1 in those areas.

Without having to install the whole package what can I use within Windows to see what driver version is installed?

Is there some kind of translation of what shows up in Device Manager to the installed AMD driver, etc.

looks like you have 19.2.3 installed, check versions in release notes

or you really need a reboot if you installed 19.4.1 package
