where do i find the drivers for your amd fx (tm)-6300 six-core processor?

https://www.amd.com/en/support

that obviously isn't it. it only shows the ryzen, and epyc processors.  i really miss the days when you purchased a computer and it had driver disks included.  no hunting, no searching, no head aches.  there is a full on rant that goes with that, but i'll spare you.  i just want my computer to work properly after i reinstall the operating system, since it has spent the last three years being fragmented by microsoft updates.  you cannot defragment the operating system while the computer is running which means you have to reinstall the operating system every so often, so it isn't installed willy freakin nily all over the place.

CPUs or Processors don't require any drivers to be downloaded or installed for them to work. Windows supplies a Special native driver for the CPUs.

The only Processors that requires drivers are the processors that have Integrated Graphics built into them (APU). The driver is for the Graphics part of the Processor and not the processor itself.

Ryzen doesn't have any drivers either. What you are looking at are drivers for the Ryzen Master program and not the processor.

Go to Device Manager and see if there are any errors or yellow exclamation marks. If none check for "Unknown Device" and post the HARDWARE ID to see what hardware driver you actually need.

thank you, for your timely answer. i had a ton of exclamation points i couldn't fill the other day.  wouldn't take updates or anything for some reason.  it didn't happen the last time i reinstalled, i reinstalled again and i still couldn't get the update drivers till i installed other updates first which was really weird.  guess there's a first time for everything.
