When I try to install my drivers which are 46 months out of date I install them through the AMD Catalyst Install Manager, it asks to reboot - I click ok, and then my PC crashes. What's the problem?

EDIT: Also I don't think it saves the changes or installation to my drivers when my pc crashes, and this is the type of crash where my screen goes black says "Analog" "Digital" at the top left for some time then my screen goes black and I don't have access to my keyboard or mouse and the only way to get out is by holding down the power button on my PC and pressing it again after a few minutes
