To preface I have a bit of an unconventional setup. At my main desk is a 32" 4k, flanked by two 4:3 displays, and a small 15" under the 32". This setup is primarily for audio work and I don't game on this PC. Because I have back issues, sometimes I will browse or work from a small bedside monitor, I have an HDMI switch that switches between the main 32" and the bedside 27".
Prior to this setup, I only had the 32" flanked by one 4:3, and switched between the 32" and the bed side 27". This was all run off of the motherboard HDMI out and the 12700k iGPU. There were absolutely no issues with switching with the HDMI switch.
I recently got an RX6600 so that I could expand the amount of monitors at my work station. For whatever reason, using the HDMI switch with the HDMI out on the 6600 results in the display being squished to the top half portion whenever I switch from the 32" to the 27". The only solution is to set it to the 27" and then restart the PC, and switching back to the 32" is fine.
Wondering what the issue could be, I had absolutely no problems with the exact same switch / cables / extender when using the motherboard and iGPU.
