So here's the deal.
I am running a windows 11 system with an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X processor and an 7900XTX video card.
I was on 24.6.1 without any issues and when I went to update to 24.7.1 via the Adrenaline software I got an error I've never seen before.
So here is everything I have tried to get it to install since receiving the error:
1) following all the steps that you can find online to fix the "forbidden by system policy error" (there are about 6) --didn't work
2) DISM and SFC scans --didn't work
3) using DDU in safe mode to get rid of all AMD installs and reinstall the 24.7.1 in safe mode --didn't work
4) using the AMD cleanup tool to get rid of all installs in safe mode and reinstall afterwards --didn't work
5) tried to reinstall 24.6.1 --didn't work (same error)
6) run windows update --didn't work
7) repair windows update --didn't work
9) checked the install log found some stuff but nothing actionable on my side.
*UPDATE*
I got it fixed by resetting all policies back to default using the BAT file from => https://www.elevenforum.com/t/reset-all-local-group-policy-settings-to-default-in-windows-11.21587/
It magically got fixed.
