I started noticing a couple weeks ago that every so often I will suffer random crashes when playing games (PC immediately turns off), however when these would happen I would just blame the fact I was playing a new game that is inherently known to be unstable (Fallout 76) and WIP game (Deadlock from Valve software) that likely hasn't undergone thorough crash testing, or just random driver crashes and it wouldn't occur again for a while. Now it has become increasingly common and annoying and I spent the last few days trying to figure out a solution, in doing so I found that opening photoshop and applying any heavy filter to an image would cause a crash to occur during the process roughly within a minute or two.
To put it into context playing Fallout 76, usually a crash will only occur after a couple hours when in an intensive scenario. Whereas playing Deadlock on DX11 causes a crash within a minute or two yet Vulkan will only crash after a couple hours. Checking windows event viewer after crashes reveals nothing except unexpected shutdown.
I've tried running DDU, downgrading the drivers to 2023, installing the latest bios then shorting the cmos battery for the default testing, and then updating again. Reseating the memory, unplugging and plugging back in every power cable, removing the cpu cooler and using new thermal paste, removing any and all overlock/boost settings such as EXPO or PBO. You get the idea.
I'm mainly here to say I have no idea what I can do or what is causing this and any help or ideas would be appreciated!
