Hi everyone,
I’m having a major issue with my RX 7900 XTX Phantom Gaming 24GB. It was working perfectly for about a month, but after switching to Linux and performing an update, my screens suddenly went black, and since then, I get no video signal.
Tests performed:
Tested on two different PCs → The PC powers on normally (fans spin, LEDs light up, no error beeps), but the screens remain black. No BIOS access since nothing is displayed.
Clear CMOS → No change.
Used DDU to remove drivers + reinstalled Adrenalin → The card is detected in Windows when another GPU is installed, but still no display.
GPU-Z shows abnormal values → GPU Clock displayed as "+ MHz" (corrupted BIOS?).
My PSU is 1000W, and a GTX 1060 works perfectly in the same PCIe slot.
️ Behavior in Windows:
I managed to boot the PC by installing my GTX 1060 in PCIe 1 and the RX 7900 XTX in PCIe 2.
In Windows, the RX 7900 XTX is recognized in Device Manager, and I was able to install the Adrenalin drivers.
However, Adrenalin won’t launch and displays: "Not compatible with your currently installed AMD graphic driver".
When I try to switch GPUs in Windows, it does not detect the RX 7900 XTX as an active card.
After a reboot, the card is still visible in Device Manager but with a message saying it was disabled due to a problem.
I suspect a hardware issue (corrupted BIOS? VRAM/VRM failure?).
Has anyone experienced this issue before? Any troubleshooting steps I should try before considering an RMA?
Thanks in advance for your help!
