I currently have a 500GB SSD with OS and a 1TB HDD with data and large applications. With 256GB fast disk/SSD limit, it makes sense to me to have my HDD tiered as a data drive with RAM cache, and then have my OS and most applications on the virtual "carve out" space.
I would like to know, firstly, if the carve out disk will support a bootable partition, and secondly if I can expect any real-world performance loss from the "background" bandwidth used by StoreMI.
Also, is it possible to enable RAM cache on an untiered drive?
