This is typically an issue with the underlying drive preventing us from reading or writing to it. Check your connectivity to your drives (you'd be surprised how often bad SATA cables are the culprit for this kind of thing). Also make sure you have adequate power and ventilation. Let us know whether this resolves the issue.
Either way, you might want to check your drives' SMART firmware with a tool like HD Sentinel (free trial available).
Note that AMD has discontinued support for the version of StoreMI you're using that was developed by Enmotus, but we continue to develop FuzeDrive tiering software, on which StoreMI 1.x is based.
