I've experienced large amounts of flickering present in some games for a few months now. It appears that it might cause some amount of stutter too but it's hard to tell when the display isn't working correctly. I have only just found out that it is a bug with Freesync that is causing it as disabling it immediately fixes it. Games I've recently played that it is present in are: Immortals Fenyx Rising, Halo MCC and Ori and the Blind Forest.
