S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 Day 1 Drivers?

So are we going to get the S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 day 1 drivers for this game? It comes out in less then 48 hours. NVIDIA already has drivers for it that people got last week.... this game is an Unreal Engine 5 game meaning it will have obvious performance issues. We need to get drivers for it before the release....

This is one of the most anticipated games in the last decade, and there's no word of a AMD game ready driver update for this title yet... What are you guys at AMD even doing? We don't want driver updates a month after all these AAA games release, we want them before hand.... NVIDIA is doing it, maybe you guys should get with the program.

I hope AMD releases game ready drivers too. The driver release cadence has not been the best for a while now, and I agree it would be wonderful to see drivers release more frequently.

Fingers crossed; they are able to take care of the lack of updates. The releases have been sporadic, and I want to see Radeon grab more of the GPU market. I feel like if they are able to pop out a few updates a month with decent fixes on a fixed schedule, they could start to see more users move to AMD.

I'm guessing that part of the reason driver cadence has not been good is because the Radeon team has been pivoted to the development of an AI upscaler over the past year or so.

They GOT to do something....A LOT of new Games are releasing on Unreal Engine 5 and the latest driver is rubbish for it...

Fortnite TELLS you this specific driver wont work right when you fire it up, and to down grade 2 revisions back ( 10.8) to try it but if you do that it breaks Space Marines....

Off The Grid- crashes your entire system and gives unreal 5 errors been fighting it weeks I did find a preview driver and or forcing it to start in DX11 works better for stability however breaks other things and DX11 is a LOT slower in game...a LOT slower....

Stalker 2 is directly off those same platforms you can even tell it by the menu layout and its for SURE gonna have problems, AMD has GOT to get us a working Unreal Engine 5 driver full featured that doesnt break other games like now....im very closer to returning this card ( 7900xtx ) and getting a 4080 super black friday...the 24gb of Vram doesnt matter because space marines 2 wont run the texture pack at full without micro stuttering that you feel even at 1440p and 200fps......again I found a preview driver that inexplicably WILL but doesnt support a lot of other stuff so its driver related.....

Im very disappointed moved to angry that they dont even have a driver for the game that comes with the card which is also co promoted everytime you fire that game up or open your adrenaline drivers with a card the texture pack recommends to USE it.....now all the Unreal Engine 5 issues, how you think your gonna just not support URE5? fully and completely?

Unfortunately, AMD has been doing extremely little with drivers lately. There are only very few Game Ready drivers and if they do come, they are 1-2 months late. In addition, the drivers are full of bugs.

I see i did a bad choice choosing amd...

Yeap YOU GUESSED IT, Stalker 2 does NOT trigger adrenalin even when added manually...adrenalin doesn't detect it therefore doesn't apply its settings, Jesus this is INSANE

everything works for me

Sadly me too, I have been Team RED for 9 years now faithfully, Every generation I get the best card for myself and one for my fiance in the midrange, now sadly we learn they will not even be competing in the higher end on NAVI4, for the next generation of cards, I will likely be switching to Nvidia. I absolutely hate that, but with no plans for "enthusiast" cards on NAVI4, I'm sure many others as well as myself will be switching too and they'll lose even more market share, this is financially
IMO a stupid move for AMD. I have went from Radeon R9, RX 580, Radeon 7, RX 6900XT, RX 6800 (Fiances Build), to currently 7900XTX, Paired with my 7800X3D. I started at the low end and progressively upgraded through the last 8 to 9 years faithfully for mine and my Fiances builds. However with no enthusiast offerings sadly I will pass on NAVI4, I'll be selling my 7900XTX, especially after this entire fiasco of 2024, almost every single new game release have virtually zero Day 1 Drivers, I've been waiting for S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 since E3 2018 to not have drivers ready for Day 1? Just shows they don't care, thankfully the game is well optimized, at least on my PC, I've had no issues, nothing game breaking, but you can tell drivers would fix the issues that are there.  I will wait to see what AMD brings to the table for NAVI4 but if it's not competing with 5080/5090 they'll be losing a faithful, decade long customer.

It's a shame that even intel has his driver ready while AMD doesn't even has a beta.

This kind of drivers delay and FSR3 being worst that XeSS its changing my prospect of future GPU from RX 8800 to 5070 or even a used 4080.

I think I am going to return my card and get a 4080, this is literally Inappropriate....4080 simply wont have these driver issues, it will record live stream correctly, DLSS IS better than FSR3, and it has the Ray Tracing support....I am SO tired of the hassle everytime I buy a game....SO tired and I really wanted to pull for the underdog.....its why I built an all AMD system, that and the Vram...but the ONE title AMD advertises with the 4k texture pack wont run it without micro stutter you feel...and it eventually fills up all 24gb anyway..

Im noticing on the settings I have to use to run somewhat smoothly its generally 12-15gb of vram being utilized...so 16gb will be just fine even if I decided to drop all they way back to a 4070 Ti Super on a black friday sale then run it till next year when the 50 series hits in January, the leak today is 8000 series amd is 2026....

Nothing I bought the card for is reality including future proofing from 24gb of Vram, their OWN advertised game with 4k textures ( even running in 1440 up res ) is to much for their implementation of vram without stuttering, and its total silence on that front, and unreal engine 5 games of which 1 is huge and 2 just dropped with another due in about 3 weeks....

I just told the user above the same thing, I have 7900XTX/7800X3D and a decade long AMD owner and purchaser, this combined with NAVI4 not supporting enthusiast on high end cards, I will be selling the XTX and hopping to team green for a 5080/5090. This is ridiculous and it's been virtually every launch this year where AMD drops the ball and have 0 Day 1 Drivers, even for BETA there are none.

To who can't add the game to adrenalin

You can add this route:

\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl\Stalker2\Binaries\Win64\Stalker2-Win64-Shipping.exe

If you add it will works, but maybe you will  see it with another program/game name like...in my case Battlefield 2042

I used task master to see what .exe its running, SAME thing happens with Fortnite, THEY ( the devs ) CHANGE that .exe because of what looks like the EASY ANTI CHEAT so it doesnt matter as YOU cant launch the game directly from those shipping or .EAS shipping.exe's either...they FORCE you to go thru their launcher ( in Fortnite and OFF the Grid thats EPIC in Stalker for me thats PC game pass )...the driver has to detect it....I went thru this EXACT same thing Space Marines until they released drivers....in fact if you have that game and are running 24.10....revert to 24.8 ( like the fornite splash screen tells you to because it literally says 24.10 has Known issues with DX12 and the unreal engine ) and it WONT SEE the space marine 2 exe thats still in its spot that works with 24.10...the driver HAS to know about the game on these triple A titles using easy anti cheat...there was a time when you could use the -shipping and other variants to launch these unreal 5 engine games directly but no longer....if you dont go thru the launcher it will error out....

Now the desktop uses a .ink .url ect shortcut to fire these game up with with a double DOES activate the launcher and then the shipping exe for that paI used task master to see what .exe was running and tried to add it manually its in the games area it just dont SEE it whertular game, however even though its literally in the file type allowed as a manual add within adrenaline, unless the driver is released after the game and KNOWS the game exist already it will not actually add THAT shortcut ( and you can tell adrenaline is supposed because it has that as a file type when you click browse under add game )...they got to release a NEW driver and it needs FULL compliance with DX12 and Unreal 5 which 24.10 doesnt have even if it would launch adrenaline on start up....it tries its pops the overlay up for about 3 seconds ( this is the same behavior for every new game that adrenaline hasnt recognized since ive been trying these cards I started with a 7800 GRE which just wasnt strong enough went to a 7800xt, then a 7800XTX which honestly still needs 1440p to run everything smooth in ultra )....

I think im gonna return the card, and grab whatever the best deal on a 4070 ti Super is for black friday ( since i have to play 1440p with upscaler and frame gen anyway ), then let the 50 series GPUs hit in January and see how it shakes out in price for 4080,4090 and say 5080s but if the rumors are true and the 5090 is gonna hit under 2k...tempting I wanted 4k Ultra dont care what the frame rate counter says but it FEEL smooth ), possibly even try to find a used 4070 ti super or 4080 local to semi local....

Im weary of this fight to figure out how to trick it ( like with other games you manually add its launcher.exe instead of the shipping one which doesnt work direct anymore and it will turn on the overlay and features but not turn it off when you leave the game so then I have to control alt delete and manually shut that launcher helper .exe down sigh im over the insanity this isnt a small release, space marines 2 is their own co sponsored game, and fornite has millions of players sorry AMD but your gonna need to completely and fully support DX12 in Unreal Engine 5 period its here to stay )...

It's a shame. We saw this trend in many games, black myth wukong, stalker, silent hill 2 and many others... And we are not talking of some Indie videogames but very well known AAA... we the AMD users have to accept the fact that we are not able to play a new released game at its best... AMD seems unable to coop with developers for example Antilag 2 is never implemented in the game not even in the sponsored titles like COD... I am not surprised to see NVIDIA leader.

EXACTLY they didnt even have their co sponsered game SPACE MARINES 2 with its swarm engine and nearly 5 million units sold ready.....it STILL aint I STILL get micro stutter with the 24.10 even at 1440p at times and you feel it...its not just a metric it stutters you look and yeap micro stutter 25%, I dont think im CPU bound either with a 9700x running OC at 5.6GHZ 40mb v cache with DDR5 6000 CL30 ram its all very well supported including an X870e motherboard....sure a 9800X3D would be better but these games are GPU limited at my settings anyway generally)...

Its WILDY not ok, especially when its a HUGE overwhelming market share game engine like Unreal Engine 5 using DX12 ( you can force it to DX11 and get let trouble but 30% less frame rate too and doesnt look as good ), this is just a day 1 game miss they need polished drivers for this game engine SO many current and future games are going to use....i mean if they pick ONE game engine that it better support its UE5 w DX12....but nope not a word not even a preview driver...

Also I know its drivers cause if i decide I want to play a single game for days I can find a driver use DDU install it and play that title....Id bet I can find one even now that by chance sees this game and runs it decently but it will break others....thats been my 3 month experience...my display has amd free sync, amd is the underdog, and at glance on a website seems like the best value for the dollar but without the drivers and support its simply NOT, i was told avoid it and if money was a concern just get a lesser Nvidia card in this case a 4070 ti super or 4080 one slightly lower one slightly higher less than 100 either direction, by SO many people and I didnt listen...Ill be sending them messages today...I assumed thats Ok i dont mind a little tinkering here and there but im worn out already.......hopefully im not stuck with it...we havent even talked about the heat issues and power draw yet...this system heats my room up its drawing nearly 800 watts total lol

I'm tired of this AMD's slowness in releasing a new driver. I love my Rx6950xt but I'm seriously considering going for Nvidia GPUs with the next generation of GPUs.

I'm just tired.

AMD has been slowly pushing me away, the announcement of no enthusiast GPU on their next gen, no drivers for every game purchase I've made this year, unstable drivers, non loading software, which sucks I've been with AMD almost 10 years, but I'll be selling my 7900XTX and getting a 5090/5080 when Nvidia announces them. I'm at that point now and I don't feel bad about it honestly.

and im just bought my RX 7800 XT recently...should i sell it?

If you can do it, go for a 4070 super or a 4070ti super.

also they deleted my thread on unreal 5 dx12 issues I posted, and I didnt swear or anything like that...

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl & Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 GeForce Game Ready Driver Released - Download & Install Now Via The New NVIDIA App

By Andrew Burnes on November 12, 2024

nvidia had em ready BEFORE launch.....plus another one today....

AND......charts in game AND........

Additionally, GeForce gamers can activate NVIDIA Reflex in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. This game changing technology reduces system latency on GeForce graphics cards and laptops, so your actions occur quicker, making single-player titles more responsive and enjoyable.

In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, enabling Reflex with a few clicks sees system latency reduced by up to 45%, further improving the PC experience for GeForce gamers.

There is just NO comparison at ALL.....they even released new capture and stream software and features app as well with editing for streamers ect ect ect ....it cost more, everything else is better.....and the 4080 is withing $50 dollars of my 7900XTX return....

Im looking hard at the new Intel ARC Mage card as well for dirt cheap for a second PC when it drops in December....

ITS comically apparent Nvidia is leaps beyond AMD its only more expensive per raw rasterization cost per performance....but what does that matter when you cant play your next AAA title release.....

my asus dual v2 RX7600 refuses to work in a stable manner for ff16, silent hill 2, cities skylines 2, ghostbusters spirits unleashed and yeah stalker 2... i dont particularly enjoy 14fps fhd gaming and i dont like it when these games are frying the heck outta my gpu. luckily my 5800x is liquid cooled. i have tried overclocking my system and it does nothing. also gtav is having graphical issues too. im using driver 24.20.19.05. nearly all my games have bugs from this latest driver.

Guys look at the new Mage cards from Intel whose drivers are better than AMD right now, their best one is gonna be slightly faster than a 4070 for $350....to tide you over.....

I just cant believe Nvidia fully publicly supported the latest Unreal 5 engine game...I mean out right and purposeful with benchmark charts across each setting and card lol....while our drives don't even see the game started...WILD....and still don't.....

Also my card is super unstable I can't play unreal 5 games over an hour or s so even eating the performance turning stuff down and lately I notice my gpu hotspot just for no reason ( trust me case has airflow ) just jumps to 103c+ and reboots entire system ( second card first one did same thing before I dug into driver issues) also just got NO reason set to default it will just start running at default nothing touched start running itself at 2800-3100 over clockijg the hell out itself lol...and crash of coarse, ive found i to even get 2 hours of play i have to make it to custom and force the max clock down to 2400 ( it will still over shoot) and fans to max which is obscenely loud....

if your card gets to + 100 degrees celsius that is a problem. then you wonder why your system is not stable lol. time to get a new one it seems.

i dont have thermal issues though. its fine in the 70s. my cpu is in the 60s liquid cooled. its as people are saying amd sucks for ue5.

yea my CPU runs fine....and stays cool it has dual fans and they all point to an exhaust fan right at them that takes that heat directly out the case, it works pretty well.....-30 offset and I rarely see 70s, Space Marines 2 will use a lot of CPU% iirc ill see 72 now and then...maybe 75 max....but the gpu is nuts ( and sometimes NOT something IS wrong with it probably )..but 2 back to back?

it IS new and its the second 7900xtx.....its in a dual chamber case with 8 fans that has an internal environment temp of 27c INSIDE the case, it has 3 fans pulling fresh cool air UNDER the GPU and 2 fans out the top ( its staying slightly positive pressure for dust control ), its on a NEW x870e elite motherboard, with a new 9700x and new ddr5 6000 ram and new gen 4 nvme drives in NEWEST for AMD and top end PCI-e slots, it has new everything including a corsair modular 1000watt power supply....it ALL new and all near top notch....its the drivers...they still have produced one and on SOME games it doesnt run that hot on others ( especially if it doesnt detect them ) it will.....ONE of the the things this driver is doing is ON ITS OWN clocking itself at times up to 3015mhz....totally on default no OC and NO pushed power slider nothing total default after DDU install clean...

yea GPU hotspot will go over 100c unless i put it in custom and limit clocks to 2400 and undervolt...gpu 72-83 is but yea that 30 degree delta is terrible and I sent the first one back this one done the same.....

to the guy running 70s you mean GPU or the hot spot ( vapor chamber)?

its nuts they still havent released a driver i cant wait for black friday to offload this junk....

AMD construct a new Idea to say all guys how by 7900xtx in current gen , the next gen AMD User can buy only medium Hardware !:-)

But on AMD is that normal and i hate this inability.

AMD

"Why can't we climb the market share in GPU's?"

This, this is why you won't climb. If Intel even make a half assed attempt at a gpu they will be doing it better. It's time to fire your Radeon development team. This is actually disgusting. You don't even support your own hardware properly in 2024. We are not waiting to find it on a BBS, or for floppys to come in the mail. Sort it out. Your team need to actually understand that 60-70% of your sales are for gamers. We game, we're young and old. If a competitor is doing it right, and we know what they are doing, how is it that you guys falter at this hurdle time, and time, and time, and time, and time, and time, and time again.

It's a lot of collective delirium. On several serious websites where they tested different GPUs, the AMD cards are performing very similarly to the NVIDIA cards. Keep in mind that the game is sponsored by NVIDIA. The problem isn't that AMD is releasing placebo drivers to make you happy, but rather the mediocre performance that the developers left the game with. Personally, I'm playing very smoothly without crashes, but there are many people with NVIDIA cards and their dedicated driver for STALKER 2 crying about it, lol.

Like you, I am also fine. But me being fine, doesn't speak for all. The problem is that there is a new game, a HUGE new title, and this is not the only one released in the huge timeframes in which they release new drivers.

The performance I am getting is because of my settings, I could hve it running better had there been proper support from AMD for it. Their Radeon team is lack lustre and it's always been the difference between Nvidia and AMD. Drivers.

An example would be the increased shader cache load times. They are phenomenal on AMD cards compared. It's abhorrent. Not to mention AMD pulled away our ability to easily set shader cache size.

Also I would happen to think FSR could be implemented a bit more streamlined than what it currently is.

End of the day AMD are not pulling their weight. It's been ongoing for many years now. Their team really don't care about their customers and it's showing.

I have three AMD graphics cards and there are no problems with anything anywhere! All games, including new ones, go smoothly with high FPS!

I get people being disappointed with no enthusiast class gpu being offered next generation but they have done this before with the 5000 series.

AMD is shifting their business model and are looking to increase market share by targeting what most people buy at, the mid range, because let's be honest here only 10% of consumers purchase enthusiast class of GPU and unfortunately with its current architecture AMD clearly can't compete with Nvidia, maybe that will change with UDNA which is rumored to be the 9000 series (or whatever they name it) architecture.

Regardless it's true that they shouldn't be not having Day 1 drivers for new game releases.

I only made an account here after reading release notes, and seeing all the whining and moaning. Christ, just go buy a nvidia card already. Threats doesn't motivate a billion dollar company. The CEO will never see your post. You are just trying to berate some regular guy like yourself, grow up.

Everyone isn't having an awful experience. Therefore, new drivers every Friday for a handful of incompetent users isn't a sane thing for a company to do, no matter how many people cry about it.

Stalker running like trash is the Stalker devs problem. I played the game, and it ran fine, My brother has a 4090 and it ran fine. Both of us, noticed it's a very hard game on my 7900xtx and his 4090. We both felt the need for FSR and DLSS at ULTRA settings.

That being said, I have had no crashes, black screens, nothing but stable on the latest drivers. But I'm not incompetent. I know to update chipset drivers and mobo bios and not get stupid with all types of core settings that I copied from some fool from reddit.

Playing Diablo with my brother, he's crashed out a few times, while I keep playing on these same drivers undervolted, with just the undervolt button in Adrenalin.

I know I know, I'm a paid troll, and the drivers don't work for anyone. You don't hear from those of us who are gaming instead of creating accounts to unseriously, provide nonconstructive criticism.

Anyone can assemble a PC like a lego or car model kit. Not everyone is a capable sysadmin.

Good luck, and update your chipset drivers, and layoff all the mods on your dirty box, and you might find stability.

7950x3d
7900xtx

The only one who has to grow up is you. Customers have the rights to criticize a billion dollar company if its service is not at the same level of the other 2 brands in this sector. In terms of drivers there are modders that alone in their apartment they do a better job than a billion dollar company and this is unacceptable. The criticism here it's not sterile but useful and helps also people like you to have better support for the products you bought. No one here expects AMD beats NVIDIA with 1/10 of the budget, we simply expect a better support for the hardware they sell. For example they did marketing on the antilag+... And they messed up everything, they caused the ban for players, cause their lazy ass didn't want to cooperate with developers, they removed the tech as response for months and at the end they changed it in antilag2 but it's never implemented not even in the sponsored title.... We have all the rights to criticize these behaviors.

I love how you state that that about reddit yet, you UNDERVOLT your card with AMD's oh so trustworthy application. The irony

To add on to your post as a whole, you will find there are plenty capable IT professionals here, myself included, some of us have been doing this professionally for 15+ years. That being said, your "Chipset driver" and "mobo drivers" have nothing to do with the post at hand... Not to mention, AMD’s drivers themselves play a significant role in all of our systems stability, especially during tasks like gaming. It’s no secret that AMD has had a history of releasing drivers that aren’t fully optimized for major game launches and even when they do, are so far off the pace most have shelved the game. While their hardware has come a long way, the software side still lags behind NVIDIA’s consistency and that's coming from someone who is team red all the way, and has been a long time.

Most comments here are constructive, but yours sticks out like a sore thumb. We are tired, and the CEO is not in control of the Radeon team who's business it is to provide said drivers for it's customers. But thanks for your input, I will stick it somewhere safe.
