RX 6500 Support on Windows 8.1

I know that AMD is trying to push towards Windows 10, I know that the 19.12.1 drivers are the last of the Windows 8.1 compatible drivers. Just taking a shot in the dark asking if there's any way to get drivers later than 19.12.1, as the 6500 isn't supported by those drivers. Under Device Manager my card is not detected, and only reads as "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" and my graphics performance is way worse than my 2015 GT 730 I upgraded from. Any tips are appreciated!

Bad choice for upgrade. Newest hardware + not supported OS.

If your PC does not support PCIE 4.0 (I assume it does not), read about product before buying.

You can try Linux if your hardware does not work in Windows 10, but be aware before Kernel 5.18 released you need to force ASPM disabled.

PS. I recommend you to bring it back to seller and buy something older with Windows 8.1 support.

You will need to upgrade to Windows 10 to get drivers for your RX6500XT GPU card.

Windows 8/8.1 doesn't support your GPU card.

AMD does have Windows 7 driver for your GPU card. You can try and download that driver and see if it installs in Windows 8.1 and your GPU card is recognized: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-rx-6000-series/amd-radeon-rx-6500-series/amd-rade...

If it doesn't then you will need to upgrade to Windows 10 to get support for your RX6500XT GPU card.
