Where are you getting the 23.12.1 driver from, AMD driver site lists 23.11.1 as current?

when using the update button in the AMD Software, it recommends me both (essential and optional) to upgrade to the 23.12.1
On the website, the 23.11.1 is the newest

Polaris GPUs have a separate driver set to RDNA GPUs that is currently on the 23.11.1 driver version, AMD will not be releasing any major updates for Polaris GPUs going forward.

So the 23.11.1 is the final driver for my rx 590?

Unless AMD find security flaws in the 23.11.1 drivers then yes it is the final driver

How sure are we of this? I only read support is being dialed back

Because there will be no major updates e.g. to add FSR3 and AFMF. Only security updates will be released if they are needed

Well, we seem to have at least one more release before all support is dropped. I'm actually OK with no more releases so long as everything is stable. At this point, I would not realistically expect any improvements with older hardware anyway.
