Computer Type: Desktop GPU: RX 570 4GB CPU: RYZEN 3 3200 G 4CPU'S 3.6GHz Motherboard: Gigabyte AB350M - Gaming 3 F50a
PSU: Cougar VTC500 500W 80 Plus White
RAM: 16GB
Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 10 PRO 19042
GPU Driver Version: 20.11.2
Description of Original Problem: Ever since i upgraded my pc to the specs written above, literally every game i try to play crashes, and after 5-6 seconds i receive the message:
"We detected a driver timeout has ocurred on your system....."
Troubleshooting: I've tried installing different versions of the AMD drivers, if the one i installed didnt work, i would DDU it and install a previous version. Did this 6-7 times, no success. Then, i tried doing the TDR fix thing, no success as well. Tried setting off all "hardware acceleration" apps, also didnt help. I am totally lost on this tbh, any suggestions?
1. disable Win10 auto-driver-install
2. delete C:/AMD
3. update Win10 to 20H2
4. use DDU in safe-mode to clean driver
5. install 20.12.1
6. add 20% to powerlimit in wattman
ps your PSU isnt the best - its only okish midrange // if you do a hard OC on CPU and GPU you will result in crashes with that PSU
Hello,
I did everything you said in that order, unfortunately it didn't work :( Still keeps crashing.
do a CMOS and leave everything at AUTO in BIOS
no XMP or DOCP or NO OC etc
test again
Did the BIOS thing, still crashing.... im really lost
By the way, the crashes happen in very old games as well...this time it crashed 2 minutes after i started playing Team Fortress 2.
"very old games" and "TF2"... xD
1st that game isnt that old - i play games 10 years older than TF2
2nd im am old xD
1. downclock GPU and VRAM about 10-15% - add 20% to powerlimit and test again
if error persists amd.com/report
Hey, i did what you told me, unfortunately it didnt work :( So naturally i made the conclusion that the GPU was the problem. I tried to do one last test today, and it came with a surprise:
I tried to use my PC only with the integrated graphics (Ryzen Vega 8 Graphics, 3 3200G Processor), and the exact same problem happened. Could the problem be in the motherboard? the processor? im so confused.
Did you find a fix? I have this exact problem with:
GPU: R7 360
CPU: A4-6300
RAM:8gb
PSU:450w (I think)
Motherboard:A68MD PRO
I am upgrading soon but with the GPU shortage, I can't, because I would like to get all parts at once.
Hey...did you find any fix?
I am getting the same error...pls reply.
My Configuration
GPU: RX 570
CPU: Ryzen 5 3400G
Board: Gigabyte A320M-S2H
My specs-
i7 2600k OC at 4.59 GHz
16GB of ram
Rx 570 8gb clocked at 2200 MHz memory & core clock at 1508 MHz (stressed tested many times and seemed to be a fine clock)
with a cooler master 1000w PS
motherboard is a ASUS P8P67 DELUXE
,what could be the solution to the constant driver timeout? I have also tried running without the GPU OC and it still happened, also tried reinstalling the drivers.
spec: giga b365m d2v, i5 9400f, HIS RX 570 8GB. 16gb G.skill dual 8gb, PSU 500W VX PLUS (full pc specs here, except the graphic card is not correct-my old one)
no OC made, fresh windows 11 pro reinstall.
i just got a rx 570 and can't wait to test it out, it seems so far nothing wrong with roblox, prieme pro, photoshop but it has issues handling ghenshin impact mid setting. grass and texture are badly bugged and a min later i got timeout
sometime the pc refuse to boot with this card, sometime it literally failed to output no matter what port you use.
stress test with an app shown the gpu gained few hundread errors, meanwhile VRAM gained 108 (normal or not?) .
then i tested vram filler, only 3gb filled but it already fail the test at stage 5 /8
3dmark crash continously, if the graphic is same same as ghensin it handle 15 mins, higher one tend to crash in 30 sec
i am tired of this i moved back to nvidia 1050... nothing happened, not even a single crash
checking on youtube, 33% people said it is fixed, 33% swear at amd, 33% recommend to sell it and buy nvidia.
then what is the issue? amd(tested ardenaline, PRO, windows update, but i am lazy to search for old driver, as even in you guy's era this error presited) ? my PSU?
The problem still exit today 2 years later but this time the RX 580 and my Ryzen 5 5600X win 10. I have done the same things you have mentioned and still I have no working win 10 on this computer I just upgraded.
