As of at least since 20.4.2 restarting the drivers from within windows will cause a crash and blackscreen on rx vega. In the rare cases it does recover the screen flickers between black and white while the system lags to a incredible degree. The cursor will stutter and rubber band like a badly written game. I have made a bug report and also DDUed and reinstalled the drivers and it still happens. It appears to be 100% the amd drivers as it happens if I disabled all my oc settings and do a clean install of windows. I did have one of these crashes corrupt a windows install, luckily I have a backup but that should never be a risk from a recommended build of a publicly released driver. It does not happen on older drivers such as 19.5.2 (one of the more stable drivers in recent times). Easy ways to get this to happen appear to be to toggle hbcc and or do a ctrl win shift b to try and restart the driver from within windows 10.
