Random Display Flicker or Micro Stuttering with HD7970 / R9280 SOLVED

Hi everyone, I would like to consult with you, the reason why with several of the AMD Radeon Drivers I present random flickers on my screen, doing any function, from watching videos on Youtube, Browsing the Internet, Designing in Photoshop, or Editing a Video. They are very short and sporadic but very annoying blinks. I have changed Driver many times but the problem persists.

I would like to know if it is the monitor, or the cable or the video card, any software installed or definitely the Driver problem.

The most stable version I am using is 18.12.1.1 (A version superior to this one does not let me install since it presents BSOD) in another post explain my case of why the latest drivers have this problem, but today I want to consult for the random flickers of versions 18.12.1.1 and earlier.

My System is:

  • Graphics Card MSI R7970 Lightning
  • Desktop Custom System
  • Operating System Windows 10 64bit (Latest Version Updated)
  • Driver version installed Radeon 18.11.1
  • LG IPS 27" (Display with mini display port to HDMI Cable)
  • Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 1 BIOS 3503 (Latest Version)
  • Intel Core I7 4770K CPU
  • Power Supply Corsair AXi 1200W 80 Plus Platinum
  • RAM Corsair Vengeance PRO DDR3 16GB 2X8GB

Thank you All

Someone who has experienced screen flicker with any version of AMD Driver and card model? From what I read are certain programs that make this happen in Windows 10 but it is not exactly the list of which. Does anyone know if Corsair Link Software is one of them?

Micro stuttering problem SOLVED

Good afternoon everyone, researching everywhere I bring good news to those who are suffering from micro stuttering or display flickering on HD7970 or R9280, case that has been discussed in this post as well.

To solve this you must definitely install either MSI Afterburning or Sapphire TRIXX and enter the configuration and activate the Force Constant Voltage mode, after that, save this profile and start it with Windows default and goodbye problem.

This problem was due to an incorrect power management of the card in 2D and 3D mode. By doing this procedure, the problem is solved completely since energy management will be constant for everything that is done on the PC, from surfing the internet to playing online.

With this we are solving a problem that afflicted us, now wait for the contribution of AMD to the solution of Adrenalin drivers in its next version.

I hope my contribution will be useful to those who have this fault just like me.

Thanks @cesarin. That worked like a charm.
