Radeon not reporting the correct display information

Radeon software version: 21.10.2 (RX 570 series).

Display: Acorus fv43u

I hooked up my laptop (Integrated Intel video drivers) to this display (same port on the monitor, same HDMI cable); and the laptop reported the monitor correct and the refresh rate was set to 120hz.

But on the Radeon software on my desktop (Radeon card) I can't go above 60hz.

Please help.

Did you change the refresh rate in display settings?

right click your desktop and select:

then on the display you wish to edit, select "Advanced display settings"

Finally, under refresh rate, use the drop down menu to select your desired refresh rate.

Windows almost always defaults new screens to 60.

Simply install the monitor driver from the manufacturer instead of using the standard Microsoft driver. For my 14 year old HP w2207h, the XP driver still works.
