Problems with the newest 24.3.1 drivers
I own a 7900xt 20GB graphics card with. 5800x3d cpu
motherboard is a b650 aorus elite ax v2
i was forced to download this driver, which I didint want to but have in because it wouldent let me play any of my games. Once downloading it, I kept blue screen with different graphics driver related errors. Tried, and ik it’s a dumb idea, but I reformatted all of my drives, clean wiped it all, and reinstalled windows. I did not quick format, I did the long version. After installing all the required drivers and chipsets and what not, I downloaded the latest version, and once again. Blue screening. I try installing older driver versions, but it crashes on the initial installation and gives me an error code, different to each version of the instillation. Idk what to do here, I can’t install games without blue screening, I can’t play anything. I’m kinda screwed

I ended up having to like, full factory reset my pc. And download a really old driver version. After that it let me download a more recent driver version and I’m sticking with that

I have a similar issue (running 6750XT). I upgraded to 24.3.1 finally from the version from march 2023 with the hopes of not breaking anything. AMD Software: Host Application is gobbling up 10-15% of my CPU with nothing going on. Adrenalin will not open. When I try to open from the toolbar icon I get no list of options. From the apps menu (start->all apps) I either get a spinning wheel that does nothing or a list of options similar to what I would expect to see from the toolbar option. Reboots, software reloads, kill and restart the processes all fail to resolve the issue. No error messages that I can find. Also when my screens sleep I lose my two monitor context and can only get it back with a reboot. Latest stable patches seem to be a real problem for AMD! And then not only can I find older driver/software to reload, but I also get no better support than community forums. Not what we pay $1000s for!
