Persistent GPU Warning and Compatibility Issues with Radeon RX 6800M on Refurbished ROG Strix G15

Hello AMD Community,

I recently purchased a refurbished ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition laptop directly from the ASUS official website. The laptop features the Radeon RX 6800M GPU, but I have been encountering several issues that I am unable to resolve:

1. Yellow Warning Mark in Device Manager:

The Radeon RX 6800M GPU consistently shows a yellow warning mark in the Device Manager.

Attempting to update the driver from Device Manager temporarily resolves the issue, but the warning reappears after a short while.

The properties show the error "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)."

2. Incompatibility with AMD Adrenalin Edition:

I am unable to download and install the AMD Adrenalin Edition software as it states that my device is not compatible.

I have attempted uninstalling and reinstalling the GPU drivers multiple times without success.

I am seeking assistance in resolving these issues. Despite trying various troubleshooting steps, including using the AMD Cleanup Utility and reinstalling the latest drivers, the problems persist.

Laptop Details:

Model: ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition

GPU: Radeon RX 6800M

Purchase Date: 22July 2024

Any help or guidance from the community would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards,

Anshu..

Hey!

I am somewhat glad to read this as i experience the EXACT same problem with the EXACT same machine (Rog G513QY advantage. Rx6800m and ryzen 9 5900hx)

Everything worked fine until about 3 days ago.

I opened up my laptop..started it up..and got instant blue screen.

I eventually tried every software solution in the past 3 days:

- Full laptop format including deleting partitions and installing windows 11 from usb flash. Not enabling internet so no windows updates could come in.

- DDU to remove all drivers

- All kinds of adrenaline versions.

Etc.

The only thing i have not tried is a Bios change.

My opinion this far:

Windows now has display drivers installed in their updates. I assume these could interfere with the adrenaline drivers.

However preventing windows from updating did not help.

I thought my GPU was dead..but reading this somewhat gives me hope.

I have the same problem.

I have tried more or less everything both of you have mentioned.

Rx 6800m seems to not be working at all. Clock speed and utilization shows '0'. 6800m does not show up on display setting-graphics settings for any of the apps. The only option is the integrated Radeon card.
