Old Drivers for new generation graphics cards

Hello, I've been trying to play Red dead redemption 2 with my new 7800xt with the latest drivers but the game keeps wanting me to use a Driver from 2020. I can only use a the second to last driver available. Is it possible to use a driver that is 3 years on a new generation graphics card.

Hey dude,

Old drivers should run fine. I have recently purchased a RX6600 and im using the AUG Driver (23.8.2) as its the most stable and Recommended.

Ive heard latest driver breaks more than it fixes, Espcially with this ANTI LAG banning thing going on lol.

Ok, Thank you. I may go ahead and uninstall the latest driver and install the previous. I appreciate your assistance.
