that release is the first in months which doesn't give me error 1603 and/or black screen upon installing/uninstalling the drivers... also, the video playback issues introduced with versions 22.7.1 and to a lesser degree 22.8.1 seems completely gone.

For me its like every iteration post 22.5.1...its broken!!!

Sane here. 22.55.1 is the stable one and every newer driver is bad.

I'm frustrated in that I run their most expensive stuff in my desktop (5950X and AIB RX 6900 XT Black) and they can't even make a driver that doesn't corrupt in game aiming overlays on their best stuff.  I'm going back to Nvidia for my next GPU.  I'm glad that my laptop has a RTX GPU in it as it doesn't have any issues displaying my games.

Re: saddenly, after the second system restart, prime video, Netflix app and edge stutters. There is something wrong with hardware acceleration or similar. Others are experiencing the same. Also, halo masterchief collection on windows 11 (windows store) has the same issue when opening xbox bar and/or when achievements are displayed, causing massive stuttering until they’re gone.

Sadly this version and 22.8.1 and 22.7.1 all have issues with hardware acceleration. If you have it enabled in chrome or anything else your PC will most likely freeze and become unresponsive. The only fix for it is to disable hardware acceleration.

This is an old bug that has resurfaced.

Same problem here, i guess with hardware acceleration, since the last driver update (22.8.2), when i get into steam my pc is freezing, i managed to open task manager after a while and the steam webhelper was using 100% gpu. God, like with every driver update the more problems come... Now i can't play spider-man...

Disable hardware acceleration in Chrome, Steam, Origin, Epic and Discord...ANYTHING that uses it in the background will cause your PC to freeze with this driver. Once I disabled it system wide my PC no longer freezes. Not a fix I know...but a workaround.

Thanks for the reply, i managed to downgrade the driver so i can disable in all applications, i think i will update the driver when a new patch stabile comes out.

22.6.1 is probably fine for me as well 22.7.1 and 22.8.1 and 22.8.2 all unstable 22.8.2 can permanently blackscreen on windows 11 22h2 if you have flip mode option enabled

KabouterPlop1_0-1661357724584.png

Having it off is best you still blackscreen tho but it recovers while in my case whatsapp causes this loses connection there no chance i can do whatsapp video call with 22.7.1 22.8.1 and 22.8.2 on 22.5.1 flip mode on or off has no impact while on 22.8.2 it has no idea about 22.7.1 and 22.8.1 it probably does

i found out out black screens during install are related to windows giving the installer the middle finger and repeatly installing its own drivers that DDU does not remove, i found out that if i set display driver to standard display adapter it gives no black screens during install this black screen issue during installation only happened so far on windows 11 22h2 tho not on 21h2 or windows 10

22h2 is set to release oficially on 20 september in about next month, its pretty stable already least on 22.5.1

I wanted to say something important it may not be the AMD drivers that were causing black screens on my computer I'm on Windows 11 Insider beta channel it may be just windows 11 too but I'm not sure look in the new Windows 11 Insider Builds 22622.586 update I found this here FIXES IN BUILD 22622.586 We fixed an issue causing DWM crashes (leading to black flashes or content stuck on the screen) for Insiders on 22622.575. that was my old version

It does not fix this i just checked still same instability i can speedrun black screens now even without flip mode enabled at first i disabled it stopped doing it no idea why had video call for 1 hour now its happening rapidly again, it also happens on 21h2 i only did not test windows 10 yet i have that on my usb stick setup just right but im sure i have problem on windows 10 as well

You can test if you still have issues but you probably still have them or are on luck streak where it wont crash for a day and then crash the next day again, if had this as well with 22.7.1 its very random at times

I'm running a 5700X CPU, RX6600 GPU on an MSI X570 with 64gb of mem water cooled. The 22.8.2 run 10 to 15 degrees hotter for some reason. I don't know if its the new noise suppression running in the background but it kept overheating  up to 90 drees and shutting my system down. I rolled it back to Adrenalin 22.5.1 and system is running at 49.9C. They should not autorun processes that are not utilized by all users. Update 22.8.2 needs to be scrapped. Funny thing is my system overheated and shut down before I could post this and roll back the update. All is stable now.

Just getting shadow banned for ranting about bad drivers and having had no stable recommended driver update in months, automaticly getting flagged as spammer.
