If you have Windows 10/11 Pro you can disable Windows Update from installing device drivers by using Group Policies.

TenForums includes a tutorial on how to disable Windows Update driver installation. It should be the same for Windows 11: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/48277-enable-disable-driver-updates-windows-update-windows-10-a....

This is from ElevenForum mentioned in the previous reply on how to disable Windows Driver updates: https://www.elevenforum.com/t/enable-or-disable-include-drivers-with-windows-updates-in-windows-11.2...

The reason why because I have on my Windows Pro 11 PC driver update disabled. This was done when I had Windows Pro 10 installed on my computer before. When I upgraded to Windows 11 I still don't have any Driver updates due to Group Policy from Windows 10.

EDIT: if you have Windows 11 Home you can use MS Hide/Unhide app to prevent a driver from being installed via Windows Update: https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/microsoft_show_or_hide_updates_troubleshooter.html or from TenForums: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8280-hide-show-windows-updates-windows-10-a.html

This website give a tutorial on how to enable Group Policy in Windows 11 Home edition also mentions a 3rd Party app that does the same thing but easier: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/access-group-policy-editor-even-windows-home-settings-try/
