Hello, I want to talk about the problem that I am facing, and that many are facing as well, which is that the game Marvel's Spider-Man 2 crashes at the start screen. This is because the graphics card has not been updated to the latest version, which is 25.1.1, but it is not available on the Rx 580. It is sad to see that cards older than The Rx 580 from Nvidia received an update and works without problems, so I really hope that AMD resolves this matter.
Do you think that the update that will be released in March will solve the problem? I don't think it will be just a security update or fixing other things that have nothing to do with the games (I hope I'm wrong). As for Nixxes, I don't know what happened with this team, but I'm not surprised. In fact, I knew that something was happening with them. The pre-order has not been opened or even the operating requirements published, which were issued only one day before the release. And don't forget that they must also work on The Last Of Us Part 2. I don't know how they will do this when they haven't finished repairing Spider Man 2 yet, which seems like it won't be finished any time soon.
Yes next update will fix problems if they release for 500 series and also dont worry about tlou 2 remastered because the pre order its already open like a month now soo there is no way to worry about since was a ps4 title back in 2020 and remastered version added new mods and the no return mode to it and added some high resolution textures and some more ambient occlusion and more draw distance plus better lighting quality and Better shadows and thats that no more changes i think will be same system requirements like tlou 1 remake Because naughty dogs did use tlou 2 engine to remake tlou 1 actually soo i.ll be the same results as for sm2 even if driver version update to 25.3.1 the driver error will be gone for sure but nixxes must be responsible for its mess of a port and unoptimized port at least you can play other games until sm2 gets all the update it needs pal soo gotta be patient and wait for nixxes to fix the problems also i see no other options here for 580 even modders did released a mod named very bad fix that make the game like a ps1 game actually that ridiculous all we can do is let nixxes and amd hear are voices and hopefully will listen to it
No I don't think
Check it out! I'm running spider man 2 man with an RX570 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JO4dbTLk4Qk
**Amd** Please release an update for Rx 500 Series in March. Or I will buy nividia gpu. They give updates at time and don't force their users to buy new cards
where did you get the information that they will release a new driver for the 500 series of video cards in March?
They released first update of 2024 in March. The second in July. The third in September. That's I am hoping a update from amd in march
Well thats a rough question Actually because i heard rumors about amd that 24.9.1 was the last update for 400 and 500 series and amd just gonna do like Microsoft doing with win10 like release a new update for security and that it btw i dont think amd will abandoned 580 for sure because is a well made card and its already a good gpu for budget pc builders soo also February its only 28 days so march will come sooner in a a week or two im gusseing will be released on march 10th or 20th at least update 25.3.1 hope its not a beta driver or a optional ohter wise this topic and posts will be for nothing i honestly dont know amd doing with next driver update but we gotta pray that not be a optional or a beta driver otherwise all ppl here posting will be trolled and screwed
Well, i just installed the brazil port, and have played it, got 50-55 fps, though the size was 230 gb after installing,, and ssd is must,, so yeah, can play it, dont wanna depend on amd, finished the opening scene of fighting sand man,
how? I have rx 580 8gb and my fps 20-30 ???
what your gpu?
Bro pretty simple, use lossless scaling, and use fsr 3 using it,, completed 20% of the game, still playing as i have job to do, so not getting enough time to play, but can play thats it,oh btw ssd is must
I have the game installed on an SSD, and I lowered the settings and ran the game on Performance Mode. The frames go up to 40 sometimes, but the game is completely unstable and drops most of the time to 25 or worse. I tried Lossless Scaling and it made things worse. The experience is smooth, yes, but the game goes into slow motion mode. I don’t know why I tried all the settings and turned off V-sync, as others said, to no avail. The Brazilian version is literally garbage.
because you don’t know how to use a computer or your PC is just a potato, because my Brazilian port is 10 times better than the official one, no need to cry
Who talked to you? Go play Roblox, don't bother me
you're trash who doesn't know how to use a computer, I have a stable 40 fps in the Brazilian port, shut your mouth dog
whats your cpu? and have you set the game in high gpu performance in graphics setting? or else it will start to use igpu,
Is AMD still listening to us? I hope they'll provide driver update for the Rx 580
I don't think they're listening. the only answer everyone gets is "get a new gpu" and i guess we should get nvidia one.
Ya I think you are right. Time to join Team GREEN
any changes since patch 3?
any hope for us?
The game still crashes after the title screen. 🥲
Idk how but im running this game on ryzen 5 3450u vega8 and getting an average of 24.4 fps
No problen with igpu actually! 3400g runs it 20 fps
Hey, chat. I have brought up the issue on the Forum once again, I hope they see it.
they won’t do anything, there are already 160 comments and they don’t give a **bleep** about us
Chat GPT:
Why Can GTX 750 Ti Run Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but RX 570 Cannot?
Let’s break this down in detail, starting with DirectX and its Feature Levels.
---
1. What Are Feature Levels?
Feature Level (FL) is a set of capabilities that a GPU must support for a game to work.
Important: Even if a GPU supports DirectX 12 API, it does not necessarily support Feature Level 12.1.
Games rely on Feature Level, not just the DirectX version.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 strictly requires Feature Level 12.1, or it won’t launch.
---
2. What Feature Levels Do GTX 750 Ti and RX 570 Support?
GTX 750 Ti → Maxwell 1.0 → DirectX 12.0 API → Feature Level 11.0 (BUT with a workaround)
GTX 900 series and newer → Maxwell 2.0+ → DirectX 12.1 API → Feature Level 12.1
RX 570 → Polaris → DirectX 12.0 API → Feature Level 12.0
⚠ At first glance, it seems like GTX 750 Ti shouldn’t run the game either, but here’s the catch!
---
3. Why Does GTX 750 Ti Run the Game?
GTX 750 Ti is built on Maxwell 1.0, which officially supports Feature Level 11.0, not 12.1.
But NVIDIA has a unique driver feature:
They partially implemented FL 12.1 via the driver, even for Maxwell 1.0.
This means that some FL 12.1 features are present, even if the hardware is not officially certified for 12.1.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 does not use all FL 12.1 features but only some, which are partially emulated in Maxwell 1.0’s driver.
---
4. Why Doesn’t RX 570 Run the Game?
RX 570 is based on the Polaris architecture, which is locked to FL 12.0 and has no FL 12.1 support at all.
If a card does not officially support FL 12.1, there is no workaround – the game just crashes.
The game expects FL 12.1, but RX 570 cannot provide it – instant crash.
Testers and the AVX2 bypass developer already tried running the game on RX 570/580:
Even with an AVX2 bypass, the game does not work.
At best, you get 2 seconds of gameplay before a crash.
The developer confirmed: the game requires FL 12.1, and this cannot be bypassed.
---
5. Why Did NVIDIA Provide a Workaround but AMD Did Not?
NVIDIA supports older GPUs longer and uses flexible driver solutions to extend compatibility.
AMD strictly follows official hardware limits – if FL 12.1 is missing on hardware, it won’t be in the driver either.
This is partly because AMD designs GPUs for consoles, where there is no need to support older PC hardware, while NVIDIA prioritizes long-term PC gaming support.
---
6. Conclusion: Why Can GTX 750 Ti Run Spider-Man 2, but RX 570 Cannot?
1. GTX 750 Ti officially supports FL 11.0, but NVIDIA added partial FL 12.1 support in drivers.
→ This was enough to make the game launch.
2. RX 570 is locked to FL 12.0 and has zero FL 12.1 features.
→ The game requires FL 12.1, and RX 570 cannot provide it – crash.
NVIDIA "tricked" the system via drivers, but AMD did not. That’s why the ancient GTX 750 Ti can launch the game, while the more powerful RX 570 cannot.
point 5 and 6 make it clear that nvidia used driver updates as a workaround for 750ti but amd isn't releasing the drivers for us .
shame really , amd will lose a huge chunk of their customer base (now and in the future) if they don't do something.
whenever customers are buying a new pc or upgrading their system I highly doubt anyone would choose amd after this mess, unless they fix it.
please help us and fix this amd.
Guys, let's not abandon this discussion, we all want to play
Yes cmon AMD we are all still waiting....don't abandon your fans please
