Hello, I want to talk about the problem that I am facing, and that many are facing as well, which is that the game Marvel's Spider-Man 2 crashes at the start screen. This is because the graphics card has not been updated to the latest version, which is 25.1.1, but it is not available on the Rx 580. It is sad to see that cards older than The Rx 580 from Nvidia received an update and works without problems, so I really hope that AMD resolves this matter.

Guys, are you serious? U believe that rx 570 and 580 can’t run this game? Wake up, i just launched Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 on my rx 570(8gb) and got 60 fps on low-medium settings with FSR Quality. And you still saying that rx 570 and even more rx 580 and rx 590 weak cards that can’t launch Spider-Man 2? We at least got Frame Generation at Spider-Man 2! Stop talking about how this card can run game and face truth. Its just AMD bad attitude to us, their users. And also Nixxes port is bad, cause need new driver like prerequisite. But if AMD wanted support us they already launched drivers for rx 500 series at least, and rx 400 should too.

It is the solution to the problem. I do not know who did this, but it seems that it is one of the AMD management, and I, and no one here agrees with this. Oh AMD, we all want an update that solves this problem. This is not fair to see old cards from Nvidia working with the game without a problem, and a graphics card like the RX 580 is unable to run the game even, and no one here is interested in the minimum requirements for running the game. We just want an update that makes us able to run the game.

@Ahmedisreal999 since you called me out, I am calling you out. I did not mark my comment as the "solution" but there is no denying it is the truth.

AMD does not set the minimum system requirements for a game, that is set by the game developer. And Insomniac Games / Sony Entertainment has decided that RDNA architecture, and not GCN, is the minimum AMD graphics hardware required to play the game. If you want to "disagree" with someone over this determination, you should contact the game developer.

You and others continue to state that this is a "driver" issue, and that if AMD would simply release a driver update for the RX 580 the problem would be solved. However, the RX 580 is a DirectX 12.0 card. Others have stated that similar older cards from nVidia such as the GTX 900 or 1000 series cards support the game. Those are DirectX 12.1 cards. There is a feature difference between DirectX 12.0 and 12.1 that requires hardware support, namely Ray Tracing and VRS. If the hardware doesn't support it, it's not going to work, period. Again, if Insomniac Games / Sony Entertainment coded the game with features that require DirectX 12.1 support, it will never work on the RX 580, regardless of driver updates, and you should contact the game developer about their minimum requirements.

The RX 580 was a great card for it's time. I had a R9 290X that served me very well for many, many years. But eventually its age caught up to it. If you want to play modern AAA games, it's time to move on.

The GCN architecture had a good run, starting in 2012 with the HD7000 cards. Although it really came of age with GCN 2 and the R200 series that added support for DirectX 12.0 a year later.

By 2017 the RX 580 was GCN's last mainstream card before RDNA, you bought in at the end of its lifespan. Even so, AMD has continued to support the architecture more than a decade after its initial release.

The average console support is just 7 years. Hate on if you must, but your anger seems misplaced.

They're acting like the RX 580 isn't capable of running this game. With frame generation, it can easily achieve 60 FPS. And whether playing at 30 FPS on the lowest settings is enjoyable should be up to the customer, not AMD. The card can run the game—this is just a driver issue. Situations like this only make me want to buy NVIDIA products instead. For some people, buying a new graphics card isn't as simple as it sounds.

After AMD replies to ticket on emails. I can say that AMD clearly doesn't respect their clients.

To run Spiderman 2, and any futuristic game, i think the only solution we have is to throw away that gpu and deal with Nvidia.

At least we would be respected there and not being treated like idiots!

This is truly ridiculous and funny. Instead of offering us a new driver, they tell us to buy a new graphics card as a solution????. After all this, should we seriously go and buy an AMD graphics card? How do we know that all this won't happen in another game 1-2 years later I will never go near AMD products again. I was already thinking of updating my graphics card, but my option was AMD, after this incident, I will go and buy myself an nvidia. Just like you I have been a long time AMD user but now won't go for it ever again unless they fix this.

There's still time AMD, we are all waiting. Don't force us to upgrade when we all know that RX 580 can clearly run the game. All it needs is the latest driver

I have an rx 590 and spiderman remaster with frame generation gave up to 130 frames per second. They say that drivers for the rx 500 come out twice a year now, approximately in March and October.

According to people who have played the leaked build that became available much before the official release, the 500 series GPUs from AMD can easily run the game. So, it's not that the GPUs are incompatible or incapable, just that the official version of the game lacks support for them, which is a shame. So, the only options are to wait for a driver update from AMD or a patch to the game from Sony that adds support for the GPU.
