I'm running a RX460 card under Arch Linux using the opencl-amd (AUR) package together with the open source X driver. While the 21.20.1271047 driver gives a nice opencl boost opencl using 21.30.1290604 doesn't seem to work with darktable at all though not reporting any error.

Note the memory difference and OpenCL 1.2 vs. 2.0. - I've reported this first to the darktable devs assuming DT misdetects the opencl image support somehow but they ask me to report it back to the driver here:

Any idea what's wrong with 21.30 not speeding up any image manipulation here?
