Is this a legit software?

Today I stumped upon a topic about RAM Disk, and find software like this below:

http://www.radeonramdisk.com/software_downloads.php

The question, is that legit? I have already try the free version on my R7 5700X with 32 GB ram, and I pretty pleased with the feature. Also is there any alternative?

Thanks in advance

CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X RAM: 2x16 3600Mhz GPU: RX 6700 XT

It's legit in the sense that it's not a virus. It's some old rebranded Dataram software from AMD. Legit in the sense that it is useful.. for 99.99% users it's not. So the bigger question is if you actually need a ramdisk. This software was created before SSDs became affordable and even then it was a very niche use-case, it's ancient software. Especially with only 32gb RAM. Remember the RAM you use to create a ramdisk can't be used as RAM for your operating system at the same time.

For alternatives ImDisk is an open-source variant. More here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_RAM_drive_software
