Installing drivers causes blackscreen

Specs:

CPU:  AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS w/ Radeon 780M Graphics

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7700S

Ram: 64 GB

OS: Windows 11

Hello, when I try to install graphics drivers provided by the website my screen goes black. I've waited upward of 30 mins for my screen to come back but it remains black for the rest of the time its on, I have to do 2 cold boots just so I can get my screen working again. But as far as I can tell the installation fails, trying to install Adrenalin doesn't work either, when I try to install that, it doesn't even appear on my computer, all it does is make my cpu usage go through the roof. Little things like wallpaper engine on steam goes from barely using .5% of my CPU to using around 99.7%.

You should be trying to install the Adrenalin 24.12.1 version, according to AMD.com.  Are you installing this version?

I hadn't, I had been trying to install the "Auto detect and Install" for the 7700s, but upon trying the link you gave me, my screen went black once again for an extended period, this time however, when I cold booted my laptop the first time, I was greeted with a white screen instead of a black screen. Going into device manager it disabled both my 7700s and 780M Graphics, that I had to re-enabled via, device manager. Now that I've re-enabled the both of them, the 780M Graphics has a caution symbol now and says

"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

{Operation Failed}
The requested operation was unsuccessful."

The RX 7700s and Ryzen 9 howerver are "working properly as device manager" says. I still don't have Adrenalin on my computer even after installing the drivers as well.

Check your laptop manufacturer's website for downloads (assuming you were using the AMD website initially) - specifically graphic drivers.  I would even send them a message through customer support if they have that available.
