Ive been trying to solve this problem for almost 3 weeks. the software doesn't want to detect my AMD Radeon R9 M395, which is causing a lot of problems. Is there any way i could get the latest driver as a file so i could update it manually?
If Auto-Detect isn't working (likely because the R9 M395 is legacy) you can download the driver manually by selecting it from the driver menu.
I did that already. I downloaded the newest one for my software (windows 10). You’re right it’s a legacy device. When the AMD Radeon software opens, it gives me Error 173. Is there a way I could get the driver as a file to manually update the driver?
Make sure you are selecting the correct file. The last driver available for the R9 M395 For Windows 10 was version 22.6.1 from June 2022.
If you are receiving error 173 (No AMD graphics hardware detected) using the above 22.6.1 version software package, then make sure your card is still being detected in Windows by checking Device Manager under Display Adapters. If it is showing up as an unknown device or indicates a driver problem then try using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely remove the existing driver package, then install Adrenalin 22.6.1 as above.
If all else fails you will need to go to your laptop manufacturer support and download the graphics driver from them as the R9 M395 is a mobile graphics chip.
I hope I can help somebody with this:
I had the same error code and nothing helped.
I have a AMD RADEON RX 6800 XT and am running Windows 10 on an msi x99a sli plus.
- I tried a dedicated install from AMD specifically for my GPU.
- I tried fiddeling with the bios.
- Windows recognised the GPU and it was listed in the device manager.
what worked:
My old GPU drivers were still installed. They showed up once I turned on hidden devices in the Device manager. I deinstalled them and then restarted the AMD Adrenalin Installer (From the old version of the software. I assume any installer would have worked at that point). And it worked perfectly again.
well i tried what worked for you but nothing worked for me.
