Huge lag if upgraded higher than 22.10.1

Hey AMD Members,

I have the AMD Radeon RX 6600 but all te drivers above 22.10.1 cause huge lag even if I just open the chrome browser.
It make it totally unusable, I multiple times uninstalled it and reinstalled it also tried different version but the only version that seems to work is 22.10.1.
At this moment I am not happy that I purchased this AMD graphic card because I never had any issues with my Nvidia graphic card. Does anyone know how to solve this issue ?

When I install version 22.10.1 everything is working great but when I launch a game and press alt tab to look something up it causes also huge lag. Before this graphic card I had an Nvidia and everything was working fine.

Hey,

Don't know if this will work for you, but some other driver issues were fixed:

Fix for hardware accelerated apps crashing radeons since 22.5 -> https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/yvyqc7/disabling_multiplane_overlay_mpo_fixed_all/

Here are instructions, how to disable Windows updates https://www.minitool.com/news/enable-disable-automatic-driver-updates-windows-11.html

But after disabling updates, you need to DDU driver and reinstall driver. The difference is, this time (after disabling updates), Windows won't run over you driver installation.

Hey,

Thanks for your reply !

I tried 22.11.2 and 22.5.1. I also tried previous versions but that was a month ago so I am not sure which one I tested.

Al clean installs with factory reset and such.

I already had windows updates turned off but I used the "Fix for hardware accelerated apps" (reg file) and I have to say until now the newest driver is working fine so this might have fixed it.

I hope it will stay like this. Many thanks for your quick and great support, I really appriciate that !

Try disabling MPO

This has solved all my problems with screen flickering and insane lag problems
