How can I disable the "Switched from APU to GPU" notification pop-up?

Hello,

I have just purchased a new laptop with an AMD GPU & CPU. Whenever I launch a game, I get a popup in the top right corner of the screen saying "Switched from APU to GPU. AMD SmartAccess Graphics switched from APU to GPU successfully."  (I also get the opposite notification when it switches from GPU to APU).

Is it possible to disable this popup? The main issue I have is that this notification occasionally freezes on the screen and I have to reboot to get rid of it, which is a major annoyance. I also don't think it's necessary for my computer to tell me that it's doing this... just give me a notification when it doesn't  work successfully.

If it is not possible to disable it completely, is there a process I can kill or some other way to get rid of the frozen notification when that happens?

Thank you!

Man, I don't know how to fix this either, but I created an account for the sole purpose of saying **bleep** YOU AMD. After decades of owning suboptimal gaming computers, I finally splurged for a high-end "gaming laptop," only for this goddamn GPU popup to appear constantly, crashing the very game I was hoping to run on my "gaming laptop."  YOU HAD ONE **bleep**ING JOB.

I googled the issue and got zero hits apart from this question with zero replies on how to fix it, so let me be the first reply, screaming into the void, notifying anyone who reads this that this piece of **bleep** AMD-powered "gaming laptop" is getting returned TOMORROW. **bleep** YOU AMD!

Also my battery is nearly dead after like one hour.  What **bleep**ing year is it?

To suppress the "Switched from APU to GPU" notification, access your Radeon Software settings, navigate to Notifications, and disable the "Switchable Graphics" notification. If encountering frozen notifications, terminate the "AMD External Events Utility" process in Task Manager. Optimal gaming experience is achieved with seamless GPU utilization. May your gaming endeavors be as smooth as a well-executed golf swing.

Hello everyone,

If you’re still experiencing issues with frozen notifications, here’s a solution that may help resolve it:

  1. Open AMD Software Adrenaline Edition.
  2. Click on the Settings icon next to the notification bell in the top-right corner.
  3. Select the Preferences tab (the last one in the settings menu).
  4. Under General, locate the In-Game Overlay function and disable it, as well as Toast Notifications.

Hopefully, this will be helpful to others facing similar issues!

Best regards.
