Btw, is this also atleast going to be for the 7900xtx? My brother has that card and im getting a 9070xt. He also wants to know incase he should get two 9070xt's instead of one.

Wouldn't they have to release actual Recommended Drivers first for that card to be updated? It's only been 4 months.

Going by official slides and tech sites, it will only be for RDNA 4 (9070 and XT at this stage).

In several resources I read that AMD in future will think about FSR4 implemetation for RDNA3 AMD cards.

“It is possible we can optimize it to make it work in RDNA 3 arquitecture, we are on it and we want to do it, but we need to work it”

"The 7900 XTX has 96 compute units (CUs) and 192 AI accelerators. The AI Accelerators accelerate the GEMM operation which are critical to machine learning/AI performance. The 7900 XTX is a compelling GPU for machine learning/AI"

,it absolutely CAN run it and has a lot of raster power with a ton of Vram, bet that, but it would put WAY to much daylight for a $150 difference ( real price to real price ) between it and the 9070XT if they allowed it to run FSR4, I can tell you its fast with the new AFMF2.1 released for the 9070XT....its looking good, I hope I dont regret it but so far I like this new driver. I just got one issue SO far, it doesnt display the feature summary when games start...and remember how everyone said I was wrong its my fault it dont detect my games ect...guess what suddenly ALL the games it wouldnt detect.....it detected them automatically.....it was ALWAYS the driver.........

They are chosing not to allow it to force upgrade path since they arent making a high end card...we really need that 9070XTX with at least 20gb ( i routinely average more than 16gb they way I run games not sure I need 24 except in Space Marines 2 ....

but they can do it the 7900XTX has AI units, and a ton of horsepower. Nvidia DLSS4 ( still superior ) allows backwards compatibility. I dont mind if 7900XTX owners dont get 4 as long as they keep pushing 3 development as they made stride with 3.1.3 there as well, definitely  more meat on the bone...if they choose to do neither then they simply want to force an upgrade and kill resell which makes AMD a bad investment going forward, that sets a real bad precedent. It would be one more reason to go green...it loses to the 5070 ti already and both that I can find are within 50 of each other today aka $900 and up LOL...at $600 id have bought it to tinker....WE really need a 9070XTX make it stronger in raster and RT and id buy it....cant use the logic of its stronger in RT so sell my card and buy a 9070XT when they have spent YEARS telling us RT dont matter just buy our Raster performance.....its a pickle for them...with FSR4 ( id bet the jump is pretty big even without the AI rendered frames look at the difference from FSR 1 to 3 and even 3 to 3.1.3 LOTS of meat left on that bone )....Im waiting for that Nvidia email ( since I had a long term account and grabbing a 5090 call it done 3 years ). I will say on a positive note my favorite game right now it Exobourne and the old 7900xtx eats it up with these new drivers they released going to do a 5-6 hours torture test tomorrow!

7800 XT also has this AI blocks. Yes, they maybe not so effective as on 9070, but they exists! And FSR4 will work not so good as on 9070. But, AMD must make them work!

exactly, I WILL take the performance hit IF indeed there is one for the image quality. In fact ive found that running my 7900xtx in 1440p native fullscreen with NO upscaler ( or the software lossless scaling ) zero FSR is much cleaner to 4K quality ( up scaled from 1440p ) overall so ive been shifting to that...especially in motion...its a sad day for existing AMD supporters.........and frankly id buy a 9070xt at MSRP if it wasnt ALSO a paper launch.....they have had 3 months extra to stock up and CHOSE not to.....its a bad time to tinker with PC's. I ALMOST made a deal on a 4090 but I raise my grandson and couldnt do 10hrs round trip....and it didnt last 2 days on marketplace...im waiting for the Nvidia POOL email.....

That said in my testing so far 25.3.1 IS the best driver for the games I play, more testing will come today but 5hrs in Exobourne ( UE5) and 2.5hrs in Helldivers 2 ( Ray Engine I think, cant recall but its an OLD engine they made look gorgeous ), it HD2 doesnt USE FSR at all so its output looks better at 4K and their upscaler on ULT Quality ( just under native gives me that 15-20 fps I need in the 1% lows to truly play it smoothly, all other visuals maxed...Im curious about Space Marines 2 today...and off the grid ( another UE5 game )....
