Freesync and the CF791

Hi

My Specs:

AMD Graphics Card

        RX Vega64 LC

Operating System

        Windows 10 64bit

Driver version installed

        Adrenalin 18.3.3

Display Devices

        Samsung CF791 (Displayport)

Motherboard + Bios Revision

        Asus P8Z68-V Pro 3402

CPU/APU

        i72600K

Power Supply Unit  Make, Model & Wattage

        BeQuiet 1200W

RAM

        8GB DDR3 1600

My Problem is that Freesync is not working anymore. In not one of the Games i play i can see Freesync working.

Even in the Freesyncdemo it is not working anymore. In late 2017 (Crimson Driver) it was working like a charm for me.

I read that there was some kind of a fix for the "Black Screen Bug" in the Adrenalin Driver. It seems that this Fix broke Freesync for me.

Yes it is enabled in the Software, and yes Freesync is also enabled in the OSD of the Screen.

According to some Redditusers im not the only one with this Problem.

Ok, 17.12.1 works fine for me. Freesync works as intended.

Same problem here, can't get freesync to work at all. It works on 17.12.2 though. I think that is the last version where freesync actually works.

R9 390 with CF791 using DisplayPort.

Nice to see that im not the only with this problem.

Ok, when using HDMI instead of DP Freesync is working fine.

Yeah but too bad that isn't an option for me. The R9 300 series doesn't support HDMI 2.0, so i'm stuck with only 50 hz.

I did a clean install of Win 10 but the issue still exists.

Going back to 17.12.1.

It seems that 18.8.2 reenabled Freesync via DP, at least for me.

Why do i have nearly Zero Freesyncflickering with 17.12.1, and with newer Versions like 18.9.3 it is flickering so bad that i have to turn off Freesync?

It is completly repeatable for me to return to 17.12.1 in order to get rid of the flickering.

What have they done since last Year?
