Flickering screen in desktop mode on Ryzen 9 7945HX (APU 610M)

Brand new ROG Strix SCAR 17 (2023) - G733PZ (Ryzen 9 7945HX + NVidia 4080 12GB...)

The desktop screen shows random flickering in normal office usage when in APU mode.
This is a known driver issue experienced by ALL ROG Strix SCAR 17 (2023) owners. Reproducible with current Adrenalin 23.4.1 drivers and even using previous versions like 23.3.2...
The flickering itself is very fast (this is not the so called "black screen" issue), like screen blinking for 0.1sec. Sometimes it looks like only the middle half of the screen is affected.

Please AMD, fix this irritating bug.

Forgot to mention screen is 240Hz 2560x1440 (Freesync/G-Sync).

Obviously already tried to disable HW acceleration in Edge browser etc. with no avail. I can't adjust APU clocks through Adrenalin panel (missing option like you have on the AMD dGPUs) to try a workaround.

Only AMD Adrenalin fixed drivers can save us!

same thing for my 6650xt. asked support about this, hopefully theyll give a useful answer. ill try to remember to update here, if not feel free to reply to remind me.

Re: Issues with new laptop Strix Scar 17 2023 (R9 ... - Pagina 5 - Republic of Gamers Forum - 921478... see also here: try to disable (as a temp workaround) Memory Integrity in Windows 11 and see if this works... Of course we need an official AMD Adrenalin final fix, not a manual workaround.

Im having the same issue as you.

My screen has random blinking or flickering while on my intergated gpu 610m. This is a known issues for this device and people also discovered it as an AMD graphic driver issue. I'm surprised that the bug is not fixed with new updates even many have reported to either ASUS and AMD. Can AMD please raise this issue so we can have it fixed and let us enjoy asus's product without compromises?

People have been discussing plenty of issues with this device and most of them are software based. Here is the link:
https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/rog-strix-series/issues-with-new-laptop-strix-scar-17-2023-r9-7945hx-4...

My main concern is issue number 4 from the post:

[COMMON] Random internal screen (desktop usage) fast-flickerings (0.1sec, very fast almost unnoticeable, mostrly in the upper portion of the screen)... looks like AMD iGPU unstable frequency (?). This seems a well known AMD iGPU issue reported in many forums with previous AMD CPU models. Waiting for AMD Adrenalin driver/BIOS updates hoping for a fix...

Yep... embarrassing we have no support from AMD to their own 610M APU...

I am still experiencing this issue
CPU: Ryzen 7940HX, Radeon 610M
The screen blinks for less than 0.1 sec as you mentioned. And this is quite annoying and shouldn't happen. AMD should definitely look into this.
The blink even for 0.1sec significantly poses a bad user experience for the money that have spent on the machine.

Hi folks!

Of course I have the same standard problem with the ASUS laptop matrix - a flickering screen. It's getting old and boring with this equipment.

A month ago I bought an Asus ROG Strix 17'3 G713PI laptop. GPU: GeForce 4070RTX, CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7845HX and AMD Radeon 610M graphics - and this AMD graphics is the problem in my opinion.

On the ROG ASUS forum I have already found topics of people who reported problems with this flickering screen on the same equipment. But people there are probably helpless?
The screen flickers happen quite chaotically, about 01 seconds. But not non-stop. Regardless of whether I work with applications or with open search engine pages.
It can even stop movies played in search engine windows for a moment.

I have tried a lot of ideas sent on forums and on the web or by Microsoft on how to deal with it. Without success.

The most important thing - of course, when I switch the monitor support to the GeForce 4070RTX card, this whole problem is gone.

Has AMD not improved anything in this matter so far?

Because it seems that this is a permanent problem of their graphics driver. There is nothing else to fix it. Has it been two years or longer that people have been complaining about this? Has anyone from AMD support or service ever officially answered anything about this to people asking questions?

No support, at all. Not even a generic reply, never. Totally ignored issue.

It looks bad. There is a conflict between the device manufacturer and the manufacturer of the component and software for it. One will now blame the other. I don't know what AMD is waiting for? Is this some kind of testing of the causes of the fault on their part? Or are they waiting for users to test everything and do the work for them? That seems unlikely. NVIDIA regularly updates drivers without a problem. I will try to send some private messages myself asking for explanations, but I don't promise much. I came across some instructions on the web about updating drivers, which suggest that "you browse your computer for drivers and then choose from a list of those available on your computer." I actually have 2 drivers for AMD 610M on that list, but which one is which? One is probably older? Should I go back to the older driver? And what should I do next? Will it do any good?

And by the way, our ASUS laptop models are probably the same? - I have a question, have you had a strange problem with USB C outputs? After connecting pendrives to them, the laptop disconnects them and connects them immediately randomly in various situations, sometimes you can force it by turning on some application? It's irritating and only applies to USB C.
