Driver timeouts Ryzen 7 5800X3D

Just recently bought a new pc and it runs perfectly except for in FORTNITE. Game is fine in lobby but a few minutes into a game, it freezes, blackscreens, crashes, and gives me an error through AMD. Error says that a driver timeout has occurred. After the game crashes I can't move my mouse onto the screen, only onto my taskbar, so I'm forced to restart. Here are the specs:

  • AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 3.4GHz Processor
  • AMD Radeon RX 7600 8GB GDDR6
  • 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM
  • 500GB Solid State Drive
  • Microsoft Windows 11 Home
  • 10/100/1000 Network
  • 802.11ac Wireless
  • Bluetooth 4.2

Any chance your graphics settings are too high? Have you tried changing them? Perhaps there is a specific settings that causes this crash?

Also, the usual advice - reinstall game and/or drivers?

In addition to @mda777 advice, you could try turning of MPO, and seeing if your chipset drivers are up to date.

What power supply make/model are you running?

What motherboard?

Any cable extenders INSIDE your case? .. ie .. PCIe riser cable .. power cable extenders ..etc

Is your motherboard's BIOS up to date?

Be sure to update your AM4 chipset drivers from AMD.com website .. motherboard manufacturer's support page usually has older AM4 chipset drivers

How are your CPU/GPU temps?
