Custom Ultrawide Resolution

My screen is 2560x1080, however Philips in their infinite wisdom set a maximum HDMI resolution to be 1920x1080.
My intention is to stretch 2560x1080 into an active signal of 1920x1080 and then- in the TV settings, stretch it back so it fills the whole screen.

I've done this already on an Nvidia GPU, unfortunately I've been having issues replicating it on AMD Adrenalin. It always says my display doesn't support this configuration, but I know for sure it does (as it's literally a 1080p signal).

All I want is to send a 1920x1080@60 signal to the TV, but render at 2560x1080@60.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance
